We're looking for brides who have previously had to cancel their wedding, either because something went wrong, or a family member couldn't make it, but ultimately it turned out for the best.
This could be because you met a new partner and realised he's the love of your life, you are getting married or eventually got married and it ended up being better than it would have been... any way in which cancelling your wedding ultimately led you to find new happiness.
Take a Break magazine is paying £200 to each case study used.
Please send through an image as the happy couple, along with some text which is no more than 400 words. You must be willing to be contacted by the magazine and be interviewed.
I will be following this one carefully, and even writing a follow up article on UKbride!

Lol my list of cancellations, falled attempts, near misses and tear jerker endings would probably fill a whole mag, but definately don't want to see it in print. Good luck to any ladies that do give their stories and £200 is a good little sum to put to any wedding budget.
I have a gorgeous husband!
2 brilliant wonderful boys, a wonderful life
in Cornwall. Happiest woman ever!
Now making our house a home. Blessing 2014.

Unfortunately my wedding was cancelled just 5 days before the big day in 2007 by my ex who said "I think I'm scared of commitment!" As it turned out he did me a MASSIVE favour as he was only really in love with himself (isn't hindsight wonderful?) and I wouldn't have met H2B who is the love of my life! :0)
I've emailed in but from the post on my wall as I hadn't seen this thread and haven't included a photo...oops. Still, I can always send one and like Stevie said that £200 would be very handy! :0) xx
I have heard from Take a Break and they are very keen on hearing your stories and getting in contact with you. I will be forwarding on your stories tomorrow so get them in...
Hoping that mine wont be cancelled, especially after spending over £18 000 but my partner is in the Navy and has recently become unsure of future deployments... dreading the line "I'm going away" :/ send positive thoughts ladies I would be devastated if it happens :( xxx
"Love is only a feeling" ... I say love is the BEST feeling!

:( I was hoping I would be able to enter this, as others have said it would be really handy, espectially working off an official budget of ZERO (but expected budget of £1000). I have never cancelled a wedding but me and my h2b have postponed a fair few times to allow for moving into our first home and then the birth of our daughter.
Soon to be joined together as the Wheeler family, can't wait
Doing thing our way xxxx

cazzle - have you checked your wedding insurance (if you have any) because sometimes you can recoupe money lost through mandatory deployments? On the other hand if h2b has given enough notice to 'drafty' (sorry I'm ex navy) then hopefully he might just fly out to ship / boat after the wedding and honeymoon (it might be the very same day you return home or the day after) but still better than losing your money.
Key thing is he needs to tell them now and every month until the event to drum it into their head
Live for today
This cat is not in pain.....it's meowing noooo not UKB again

Any brides also who called off their wedding but stayed with their groom and are happy can send in their stories. Perhaps you cancelled for financial reasons and got married at a later time or you called it off because they were too young but got back together when older and made it work.
Send in your stories to [email protected] so we can send them over to Take a Break magazine and you could get £200 for your story!

I have just emailed the Take a Break editor, about sending over more stories should I receive any. As soon as I hear back from her I will post on this thread.
