    me again with another dilemma...lol
have been looking on the bay of e and have seen some nice shoes that would do for the wedding but they have been worn and are not pristine condition.love the look of them but my h2b says i should buy new ones and not go for second hand.i will prob only wear them the once so wouldnt feel comfortable wasting alot of money that could go towards other things?thoughts please?
    :-) xx
p.s ive not got anything against anyone who buys second hand.im not like that.x

My original wedding shoes were off the bay, bought from a girl who'd worn them on her wedding day. They were really comfy as she'd 'worn them in' for me.
I had to buy some more shoes though as these were too high and my brand new shoes are possibly the most uncomfortable things I have ever put on my feet.

i dont think its cheap at all, I'd do it if I could find some in my size but you don't see many size 8s on the bay! I can't justify paying loads of money for shoes im only going to wear once - i bought mine for £30 from evans as they were perfect and wide fitting, but now I've had my op on my foot it doesn't swell anymore and they're now too big so going to have to buy more! won't be spending more than another £30 though, just cant afford it!
If they're what you want then you get them, nobody will know they're second hand other than you :o) xxx

It all depends on how much you love the shoes. Some people can feel a little funny about walking down the aisle in second hand shoes as they are concerned about the specialness of the day. If you are defo happy wearing second hand then go for it. If there is only a small price difference then personally I would pay a tad more to have them new but if the price difference is quite large and you couldnt afford your fave shoes otherwise, then why not? go for it x

i have bought 2 pairs of my wedding shoes from the bay of e, the first were brand new from a high street bay outlet and got them for £23 .. £80 instore my 2nd pair were brand new still in box and cost £2.20, however if i saw exactly what i was after and had only been worn once i would snap them up, i know after my big day i'm gonna be wanting someone to have the wear of my shoes rather than bin them xx

I'd definately buy them, I'm thinking of wearing a pair of shoes that I already own. They are the right heel height and I already know they are comfy. I don't wear heels often so would see buying a brand new pair as a bit of a waste of money too!

I would buy them if i was you, no1 is going to see your feet (Thats if your not wearing a short dress) and the BIG plus side you havent got to wear them loads to be comfy.x

Yeah defo go for it, like u said its cheaper and you could spend the money on something else for the day!.

I will be looking on the bay for my wedding shoes as I'm a trainer girl so NEVER wear proper shoes (my bm's won't let me wear trainers for the big day!!!) so cannot justify spending loads of money on a new pair for a few hrs during one day (plan on puttin my trainers on during reception, sneakily when no one is looking!!!!)

Go for it and be proud that u saved some money on the budget!

    Happy Bidding :)

Would the shoes only be worn once if they were from highstreet and not sold with the 'wedding' label that makes everything more expensive. Could find coloured ones that match theme and then possibly wear them again???

Save money on the shoes to possibly spend it elsewhere too??

I'm not looking at second hand shoes as such, but I'm considering buying a pair of shoes sort of on to irregular choice... It means that I would actually wear them again.

I did actually see the most gorgeous pair f tiffany blue satin shoes, and was going to buy them until I found out the price... £495!!

I'd go for the second hand ones, save a bit of money and have them already broken in for you. If I could find second hand ones I liked in my size (I'm a 9 and hate wearing really high heels so I have trouble finding them new let alone second hand) I'd snap them up before I no longer had the option. If the price is good even if you decide against them you haven't lost much and could still possibly buy another pair with what you've saved.

Might have to start looking for my shoes soon then. Not getting married til 2013 but I have wide feet and finding nice wide fitting heels are a nightmare!
I don't usually wear heels so I will need plenty of time to break them in and can wear them around the house little and often is a plan. Will probably take me several months to find some that fit nicely as cant wear peep-toe or pointed and all wedding shoes seem to be peep-toe or pointed :/ xx

I paid £25 for mine, brand new from the same shop I got my dress. I class them as a bargain for new ones with diamante on them. I didn't want to pay a small fortune when they are under the dress all day. I would buy off 'the bay' if they were what I wanted only I like to try my shoes on to make sure they fit before buying :)

You may have seen that I got my beauties from a charity shop for £3. I could only tell they were worn because they had a piece of confetti stuck to the sole. So I would say no you are not being cheap. You are being thrifty, which is a good thing in my books. x

Well....I paid £150 for my shoes and this was only because I saw them and completely fell in love with them....not really because I was happy to pay that for them believe me!! Nevertheless I did pay this for them but I totally agree with all on here, if I could have found similar ones for a bargain price then I would of gone for it. I however know I will wear mine again so hopefully I will get use out of them. Everyone loves a bargain, makes shopping so much more satisfying!!
