I want to make up some bags for the children attending the wedding reception so that they do not get bored. What sort of thing should I put in them? I asked my eight year old but she is adamant only something like a nintendo would suffice!!!! - She is no longer my wedding consultant ;0) But seriously have any of you made up or considering making up bags for children.

We had some bubbles and lots of colouring books, non-staining pens, wax crayons and pencils in the children's corner of our venue. They kept themselves sufficiently entertained. Hx

a friend of mine put fairy wings on the chairs for the girls, with a colouring pack and the boys just had a colouring pack - then she had a little dress up box and asked each child for a toy before the wedding so she could have it in the box on the day - was very cute seeing a little boy adamant he wanted the Tinkerbell dress!

I was thinking of making little activity bags/ boxes for the kid n making them different depending on ages and gender! I was thinking of crayons, paper, colouring books, small reading book, stickers, bubbles, small jigsaw puzzles, necklace/ bracelet bead making set, small cars, disposable camera. Most things u can just pick up from the pound shop, local supermarket! U may be able to pick up a cheap hand held game for them to play. I have a room that were using as the kids room which has several tvs on the wall so will be hooking up the games consoles for the kids :-)

She didn't have covers, just silver chairs but she just looped the armholes over the chair :-)

I just bought bulk party-bag toys from ebay - it mostly consisted of basic things like bracelets, little instruments and stencils etc. I also got some bubbles and stickers to put in the bags as well. It might not be age appropriate for all the children, but most of the children coming to my wedding are only coming to the evening so it's up to the kids if they want to take a bag, and I thought it would be cheaper this way lol :)

Colouring stuff always goes down well and they can sit at the table and keep busy in between courses. We went to a wedding recently and they had magic drawing boards for all the kids (like the old etch a sketch type things)

I think it's a good idea to have something for them as they do get bored at weddings.

    Good luck ladies
