i'm same i can't justify paying £3.50 per chair when i have nearly 200 guests at night, my chairs are covered during ceremony and meal as part of package tho which i'm happy about but not too bothered at night, i'd rather spend the cash on something else lol xx

I have posted on your wall who we used. Im really glad we had covers and sashes as we went to a wedding in the same place when they didnt and the chairs looked RUBBISH!!! Ruined the effect completely so I would say that if you can stretch to it then definitely do it as you don't want to be looking back and thinking 'i wish i had...'

Hi girls, the chairs at my venue are new but I still wanted something to tie in with the theme, so we bought a reel of organza ribbon in purple to tie around the chairs in a bow, it looks really effective and it is really cheap.x

hhhmm, that's not so good that she hasn't got back to you. Would you have time to tie them all yourself or do you have someone on hand that can help?

I've been quoted £225 for organza which is still expensive but better than my venue who charge £3.40 per chair and I only get a choice of white or gold!! xx

At my venue it's in the terms and conditions that if we want chair covers we HAVE to use thier, they are £3.95. I nearly choked when they told me that, but apprently they are linen so they are worth it! Wtf! I woudn't mind but the chairs are horrid, and the room is beautiful, so they stand out like a sore thumb

Same problem! Our venue is beautiful, and once again, burgandy minging chairs which look a bit beaten up in honesty....The 'so called' wedding co-ordinator said it was 4 per chair! ahem...i dont think so! thats ahell of a lot of money, and she insisted i would get no others cheaper unless i done it myself....which she also said she doubted i would be able to do that!! (can you tell i dont like her much lol) sooooo i had great pleasure in letting her know there will be a company rocking up the morning of the wedding to dress and arrange the chairs for me for half the price! HA! They are based in Bedfordshire tho so too far from you unfortunately, keep lookin like i did on the net...there are places out there i am sure :)

WE have fnally decided against chair covers - at a minimum cost of £2 per cover we just don't really have it in our budget at this late point. The chairs in the room are fine though, and to be fair the reason we have navy as part of our colour scheme was because that's the colour of the chairs! It's a fairly new place and as such the chairs are also pretty new, so hopefully it will all still look absolutely fine :)

I don't think we will be having chair covers, the venues chairs are actually really nice, all cushioned and it differing pale shades of beige and cream. We were really impressed and both said 'Won't need chair covers!'
Then we went and had a peek at the venue on the morning of a wedding and they had put chair covers on, and I wasn't that impressed to be honest - I don't think it made the room look any better so we will be doing without.
Although if we had minging chairs we probably would want covers, but they can be so expensive!

I had originally freaked when I saw how much chair covers were! I don't understand why, we use them for events at work (I work in a cafe which we can turn around for buffets and even weddings lol!) and we don't charge much for them as far as I'm aware. Luckily our venue has included them in our price :D not sure if it includes ribbon, but I can live without that if it's not. Agree it makes a big difference in the look of the room! xx

We didn't go for chair covers as we saw the price of them - so went for hire chairs which are a bamboo type, abount 2.50 each - the venue has standard black folding ones which I didn't like then was reminded that a friend's wedding that I went to at the same place a few years ago used the black chairs, and I didn't even remember, so technically I suppose that means that guests won't really take any notice! So if the chairs aren't that bad and you need the money elsewhere in your budget, I'd probably suggest you don't get them at all :-)

My colours are black ivory and red roses so I decided to have black covers, ivory sashs and red roses in them like this.......

You cant see the sash very well in this but they are basically crossed at the back and tied to the side then a rose in the knot so will look like that but in my colours :-)

Aww they are stunning! I absolutely ADORE the colours on thay first one, it looks stunning! I might try that if my braids dont work out... So pretty! We are having an altar backdrop made from ribbons too so I wanted to do something with ribbons for the chairs as I think it would look lovely!

We are only having thirty guests max so it isnt such a daunting task for me!

I was in country baskets yesterday and you can buy whole rolls of the sash material, to make them yourself (but this would mean you need to tie them yourself too rather than have someone come in and do it for you?

    Hi all

I am new to this site so be gentle, i spent a long time debating on my colour theme and wither to have chair covers, they seem so costly, then i went to a wedding fair in London and found a company that do them for just £1.55 with set up delivery and collection. There also doing my Martini vase center pieces for a great price too and my fairy light backdrop. if you want the details i will try and put it on my wall when i work out how to do it lol. My colour theme is going to be ivory black and silver.

am i right in saying that these prices r all just for the hire of these chair covers?! i would expect to buy them at that price! would be better aswell cos then we could all pass them around for a smaller hire fee and help eachother out!

im gonna look up vouchers for chair cover hire i think! x

ladies whatever you do if your ordering chair covers please please please confirm with the venue you have hired that they have the correct chairs for them.............

i informed my venue that we were havin chair covers for 65 chairs which they showed me the chair and confirmed that yes they had enough, the night before the wedding i went to decorate the venue and upon arriving found there to be 40 chairs that the covers fit and 25 odd chairs dotted about, i had to bed steal and borrow the night before the day and swap everythiong around and still ended up with 20 of the chairs different you couldnt notice to much once the covers were on but they were higher than the others.
