First of all, sorry for another one of these website threads, I did look at the others but I can't be dealing with trawling through everyone's walls for links that were posted weeks ago, especially when it's hard enough finding links from days ago!

Anyway, I'm thinking of making a website for our wedding info from scratch instead of using template sites. The main reason is so I can have a paypal donate button, so before I start trying to make one from scratch, is there already a template site that will allow this? Preferably one that isn't going to cost me anything lol.

We're not having a honeymoon and we don't need random gifts or vouchers or whatever, so I want people to be able to gift us money that we can put towards the wedding (if they chose to). I figure paypal is the easiest way and we can use the money for the online purchases we're going to make (which will be many!)

Also, If I do make one from scratch, what else could I put on it?
    Right now I've got,
    -Paypal donation gift
    -Directions to venue
    -Nearby hotels
-Menus (if we have them, undecided on sit down or buffet)
    -RSVP's

Anything important I've forgotten? Or general suggestions?

    Thankie~

I'm pretty sure the website I'm using allows paypal donations, I'll put the link on your wall to check out.

You could add taxis numbers, bus stops ect for people who may not drive.xx

The one ragatopp linked on my wall is actually really good. Has just what I wanted so will probably use it instead of the mammoth task or making one from scratch!

I think websites are a great idea though, save you putting loads of bits of paper with info in with your invites!

Can put the order of the day on there
our one also has a bit where you can put biographies or interesting facts of important people involved in your day

There are so many people out there who will tell you
    what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

We're using the same site as hollyhollyholly, and building it ourselves. Takes a whooole lot longer than using a template!! lol

getting married allows people to make a donation to your honeymoon fund etc or have a wedding gift list. It also alllows you to do venue directions, guests can upload pics of your wedding etc and you can even do rsvp, menus, seating plans etc. It is good as it also allows you to password protect so the day time guests can access the meal choices and the evening ones don't see that page. It is worth checking out before you start building one from scratch as it really does have everything in one place and is so quick to set up.

Have you thought about putting a blog on there so people can follow how your planning is going? I have a blog on mine and I know a couple of people love it and have it on their bookmarks lol

Oh - and in conjunction with what plantolana suggested about taxi numbers etc, info for car sharing, so people can say if they will have a space that they are willing to offer, and others can say if they need transport x
