We are only having a low key wedding and a celebration rather than reception (no sit down meal or speeches)
I would like to give favours but cant decide whether to give personalised chocolates or home made mini cupcakes decorated with our initials as i love baking and it would keep me occupied the day before??? What does everyone think would be best?

If you have time to do the cakes do that as it'd be lovely - however, have seen big boxes of Th*rntons chocs in T*sco yesterday for £6.50 on offer so if you wanted to then you could get a couple of those, and box/bag 2-3 as your favours!

I was thinking of making cupcakes for a cupcake tower instead of a wedding cake, I bought all the stuff (piping set and edible flowers/butterflies from the bay) and did a trial run and it took ages. If you have quite a large oven and you can cook 30 at same time its not too bad but I could only fit 20 in at once and I was so stressed that I've now booked a lady to do it for us for £150. I couldnt handle the stress the day before. BUT if you are only having a small amount of guests and have a big oven then why not. It wasnt for me though. Why not have a trial run and see how you feel?

I would much prefer the chocolates but I love cupcakes.. oh tricky!
My guests have 3 favours because I couldn't decide but I've done it so it doesn't look "too much"
They all get a candle holder/votive thing, an organza pouch with love heart mints in and on there napkin will be a chocolate heart.

I'd say cupcakes... I'm making 50 the day before to put in trees for the kids... it is very time consuming especially if you're like me and want them just so! I often make cupcakes for friends with my biggest order being 100 so I'm not unused to it... have a few trial runs and a bit of a practice.

Chocs are good too, but I don't like choc so that's why I'm saying cakes lol x

    Here comes the bride......

I'd go with chocolates - cupcakes would be lovely but maybe a bit too stressful! Or perhaps if you do go for cupcakes, you could ask a few friends to bake the cakes & help you decorate? xx

i'd go with chocolates purely because even though you love baking you could end up stressing yourself out with is.
h2b and i are caterers and do customer cupcakes, we had an order of 70 for a birthday and that was stressful enough never mind worrying about getting married the next day!! LOL x
