Hi, we're looking to go on honeymoon Sept/October 2012 to a place like the Maldives - think sun, sand, pampering and watersports :-) - we were thinking of around 3000 for the two of us for a 10-12 night break - is this realistic? I've called TFinders to get an idea and they're saying we can only do this if we do 7 nights 4* half board with 2 nights 4* Dubai stopover for Maldives, or 7 nights 4* all inc and 2 nights 4* Dubai for Mauritius - is this about right or is she just trying to push for Mauritius? She did say she'd been to Mauritius and loved it so I'm not sure if she's pushing that more than our Maldives dream!
Anyone recommend good travel agents/websites to look for honeymoon advice?

I have no idea hunni i would say say go round 3 or 4 and get qoutes from them all and compare them that way! Also look on line as there are few sites that have some fantastic deals so you might be able to grap a bargain that way

I called my local travel agent for 2 weeks in the states (Los Angeles and San Fransisco). She came back with a grand total of around 6 thousand... I decided I could do better and spent the evening re-searching. Found a week in Los Angeles, then a week in Vegas, both 4 star hotels and the round trip flights all for £3018. Shop around, use Exp*dia, and other such websites and shop around. It is achievable, you just need to have the patience and time to find it. Mine is also for September/October next year. Hope you find what you're looking for!

check out J Resort Alidhoo. Its a 4* resort, but the accomodation you get is WAY better that what you get on other islands for the same price. First Choice go there.

3k is achieveable but it wont be top class, we was gunna book maldives next oct for 4.5k but decided we cudnt justify it, so we r off jamaica 5* for £2250 ( shud of been 2800 but h2b auntie works there n got us loads off)

Just called V*rgin and for 13 nights 4* all inclusive in a beach villa it's only 3638 inc flights, taxes etc! Wahoo!!
