Not cheese that's made to look like a cake. I mean a Strawberry cheesecake cake!
I've been trying to find somewhere that will do a wedding cheesecake other than the one place I already have. I wanted to see if there was anywhere else that could do one just as good for a bit less! I can't seem to find ANYWHERE else that does them though! I'd have thought they'd be a bit more popular these days?
Anyone have suggestions for me?
Thanks.

My friend is making me one for my h2b's 30th :-)
Will post a link on your wall of a company that was given to me by rachie that gave me the idea...............there fab!!!

The is a company you can order them off the internet and they deliver. Might be the same one as Hails is thinking of - will check her link. Their stuff looks gorgeous, and for what you get it doesn't seem that pricey either... Was serious thinking of ordering one just for me at the wedding (h2b hates cheesecake - LOL)
EDIT: yup it's the same company :-)

CommentAuthorLegoWife
Yeah, the one on my wall is that particular one I found already. >.<
I was just wondering if there were any others. I have googled it and all the results are about actual cheese rather than cheesecake. Cannot find another actual cheesecake cake site anywhere!
Not the end of the world though, cause there is that one and it looks lovely so I can't complain! :)

i would buy some cheesecakes from a supermarket a couple of days b4 and buy cake boards, they r like 3 quid! and stack them urself with some dowling rods etc or put them on a nice stand. that way u get them really cheap and get to choose the flavours etc urself x

Holly there's a place called Dafna's in Liverpool that does amazing cheesecakes, you can order them any size and she can send to you frozen! Totally yum - they have a website!
CommentAuthorLegoWife
Future Mrs P- I checked MnS and they only do fruit, sponge or chocolate :(
BridalMiss- Thanks for the suggestion! Do you think she'd be able to make them extra thick? If I can't find anything else I'll contact them and ask about it.

Did you see the link I posted on your wall?
We're looking at cheesecake as well for our cake, and I think I've decided to just make em myself. A nice cake stand is about £70 on the bay, and baking three cakes will certainly cost less than the 350 the cc company asked for, and it wouldn't even be enough for all our guests! xx

Oh yeah, Annette- I did look but I don't think any of their stores are even remotely close by. Plus it bothered me they didn't seem to have prices on the site either.
I was going to email the place bridalmiss suggested and see what they can do but I haven't got round to it yet.
I want to make sure that someone can make a thicker than average cheesecake for the wedding cake cause otherwise it's not going to look very impressive. I was very tempted to just buy some supermarket cheesecakes and try to take the topping off one, the base off another and try and pile them on top of each other. H2B seemed to think this was a ridiculous idea that would never work though lol.
I should look at some recipes (in fact if anyone has any it'd be awesome if you could link my wall) and give making one myself a try. I think H2B isn't keen on making them ourselves though cause he seems to think it's too much effort to do so close to the wedding, they could be made a few days in advance though and just frozen until the wedding though can't they? Plus I have plenty of time to practice!

Hi, my OH doesn't like normal sponge cake or fruit cake of any kind.
We are having the traditional cake but all I did was ask the cake maker if she could either make me an additional cheesecake or get me one from somewhere. She then said it wouldn't be a problem to make me a large cheesecake and decorate it for me too- and she is doing it for free!
If you ask cake makers even if they dont advertise cheesecakes there is no reason why you couldn't be lucky and find one that will.x

we're having cheesecake as a wedding cake! I've ordered one of those 4 tier cake stands (not one on top of the other, sort of staggered) and I am making the cheesecakes myself.. I'm going to do 4 different types so there is lots of choice... one fruity (raspberry), one chocolatey (profiterole), one naughty (Baileys white chocolate) and one baked american style cheesecake (possibly dime bar) :) x

loucubitt1987 where did you get your stand from thats what im looking for as im making my own cheesecakes too x
where do you get all these recipies from they sound amazing xxx

ive emailed the shop in liverpool, the biggest cake they do is £10 and they only serve 8-10 people :-( so you'd need quite a few, depending on your guests. my cheesecakes usually serve 15-20 people but maybe you could find someone who can do them bigger? xx

We're also wanting to have a cheesecake for our Wedding cake. We were going to get it from the Cheesecake company online. But we thought we'd better taste it first so ordered one of their cheesecakes and were really disappointed. It didn't look pretty, more rustic and to be honest the Tescos £5 cheesecake taseted a lot better.
So now were back to square one
CommentAuthorLegoWife
That's disappointing snowmouse, I was going to go with them, it's a shame they're no good for the prices they charge! The website looked really good!

Hmmm this cheesecake thing doesn't look like it's going well - a year ago a friend of mine had a medieval style wedding, and they organised a wedding pork pie instead of a cake! Then they wento to Costco and got a massive jar of pickle and some cheese, went down a treat and was definitely different to having traditional wedding cake! Just an alternative :-)
CommentAuthorAnnette
We are either making it ourselves, asking a cake maker OH knows if she can make em, or getting three or four from Costco. Cheesecakes are soooo easy to make, I don't know why these places think they can charge so much for them! xx

I much prefer the no bake cheesecakes. And they don't take long to bake at all which is good. Good luck Holly!

CommentAuthorLegoWife
Thanks! Originally I wanted the baked sort of cheesecake for the classic cheesecake texture. But it's going to be really difficult to get them to look any good. Where as a no bake one is going to be so much simpler and will keep it's shape and won't burn and won't cost as much and will still taste great. Too many pros! (and too many ands lol)

lol, I'd never even heard of the bake kind until my OH started going on about them, so will be no bake for me! Yeah the no bake shapes wonderfully, any way you put it in the fridge really, I'm going to have to do a trial with the rice paper at some point, just have to get around to it! I want images on the side of the cakes so will be a challenge! x

CommentAuthorLegoWife
Did you say you were going to draw them on? You must be pretty good at it? Or are you going to use a template or something?
I was gonna try rice paper as well but when I was getting the ingredients the other week I spotted some icing flowers! Thought it'd be easier to just stick some of those round the edges instead!

I study design and I used to be a tattoo apprentice so I can draw yes. I've already made the designs on paper, then I guess I'll just put the ricepaper on top and trace it.
Icing flowers are really pretty, I've seen some in the store that look stunning :)
