    Hey girls,

I want to dress the walls of my venue with organza and fairy lights. I want to drape them around the tops of the walls but we arent allowed to use pins. Only thing we can use is bluetak. Does anyone know if there is anyway of doing this without pins? Can any crafty people help? :-)

Hmm - can you pin them to boards etc and then attach them with sticky pads etc?

aaahhh my computer at work is screwed up and has your names on top of your comments so I can read what youve both said :-(

I can see the word sticky tape but nothing else. I hate my work computer. I swear its from the 1980's!!

I'm only allowed to use blutak :-( Nothing else sticky theyve said. I was thinkin some kind of pole may be required.......

I dont know if the white/blu tak would hold the material, I was thinking I would have to get some kind of pole to put the material on and some how attach it to hooks that were tacked on the the wall....does that sound like it would work?

Ooh yes I've got some from B&Q, they're picture hooks made by 3M, called Command Strips - they take different weights depending on which you pick, and don't leave a mark on the wall! Sure you can find them online too - I use them all over the house!

Put a big blob of white tac on the wall then pin the material into the tac?

the 3M sticky pads are great, but can be a bit expensive. Pinning the material to the white/blue tac will probably work but to ensure that it would hold the weight you would need to make sure it was secured in a lot of places.

ooooh, if these hooks take a decent amount of weight then they may be the answer!! the pin in the blutak may work too! I dont think organza weighs much so might be easier to get lots of hooks and hook the material directly to the hooks.....

I hope the venue would allow these 3m strips. If it says damage free on the packet..... I dunno if they'll let me still. Im going to email them :-)

A lot of those hooks often leave marks :/ even though they say they dont.
Is there any way you could make little hoops out of thread or cloth? Or is there nothing to hang it on?
We draped a room once but we found places to "tuck" it in to so no need for any fastenings...
Surely your venue has had someone do this before? Don't they have any suggestions? xx
