I am having a live band at the wedding, my eldest son's friend has a band and they are willing to do it for peanuts. Anyhoo, they obviously can only play for so long, so was going to have a PA system with a list of music made up by us. Other entertainment I am a bit stuck with, as my girls do Irish Dancing and I know the dance teacher would happily do this but my friend who recently go married had them at hers, also my Mum is part of a barbershop singing group, cannot have them as also my friend had them and I don't it to look like I am copying them. We are having a very late wedding so it is only going to be the evening, so do you think I am being boring by just having background music to start with, going into a bit of a disco, then the live band?

No I don't think so, usually the evening goes so fast you don't really want to turn it into a variety show! Our wedding is late-ish and we're not doing the first dance till 9pm, so a disco after that with a band to finish the evening is perfect x

I think it sounds great hun why can't u have the dancers and barber shop singers it's your day and you are not copying your friend loads of people have them. Also your friend's should not think like that if they are good enough mates. Xx

Very true Katie. I was also planning on doing the dance about 9pm as well, then get down to the live band shortly after that. Thanks.

I think as your girls are there too you should have the irish dancers, but ask the teacher to do something different to the other wedding? ask for something out of the ordinary? x
