I've just found a company that hires out old buses. I've now got my heart set on having a London Transport Routemaster (big red doubledecker bus) to transport my wedding party to our reception lunch. I've not discussed this with my fiance yet but I've confirmed the company can provide the bus on our day & confirmed the cost. I'm so excited. Anyone else using/had a museum bus on their wedding day. I'd love to hear from you.

I wanted to but H2B said no!
The one I wanted had a TV and everything and I could have a conductor as an extra to give out tickets, lol x

A friend of mine did for her wedding earlier in the year - it looked great and living in London we see lots of them about, particularly on Saturdays. I think the depot is just up the road from us. It's a great idea and if we were getting married here, it's definitely something we'd do!
Vegas baby!

Hi,
I have had a quote from them.... Not the most expensive but we are not sure with a tight budget, it would be a nice to have but not necessary....lol

I hired one for mine.. it was amazing.. it picked me up from my home, took me, my mum, dad and 2 bridesmaids to the church, then after the ceremony, took our guests to the reception whilst myself and my husband, bridesmaids andd groomsmen stayed for extra pictures at the church,, then the bus came back for us an took us to a park in Didsbury for more photos then took us to the reception... It was such a lovely bus an it even had a proper "ding ding" style bell...
The people who were running the bus too were really lovely.... which company have you contacted - i use the ************** and was charged £450 for my routemaster, got the bus hire for 4 hours... all the passengers got a souvenier ticket an a choice of ribbon on the front... the people at the museum were really helpful too. x
Very very happy as Mrs Erica Trow
I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! xx
We are having a black & ivory double decker and it will take my groom and all the guests to the ceremony venue and then come back and get myself, my Dad and my bridesmaids

Wow! Thanks for your replies. I wasn't sure how many brides would have thought it a good idea. I'm a practical person & just want everyone to travel together for the meal. Same company as you Erica, so I'm really pleased to hear from someone with such a positive experience. ;) I have no idea why a bus occurred to me .... but I'm suspecting it may have something to do with the fantastic 3 week European tour I took on one in my younger days. xXx
