    Hello

Is anyone else having an 11am civil ceremony? We have a great venue with large grounds, but I am worried that everyone will get really bored if the weather is bad.

Any suggestions of what I can set up indoors and outdoors to keep the guests entertained?

11am is early, but the whole day goes by soooooo fast I bet you'lll be pleased you had those extra few hours.
A band playing all day could keep everyone entertained? I'm sure you could find a good local band that could do it for cheap to xx

I am worried about this too as my wedding is at 12 and the bridal breakfast is at 3. We have hired a string quartet for the day but are basically hoping for the best. For the second break, we have hired a cariacturist as this is for another break of 90 mins so we didnt want to leave guests twice with little to do. We have been told tho provided there is a bar, the guests are happy. We are warning them in advance to have a big breakfast due to a 3 hour gap so that they are prepared for it. I agree if the weather is great then time will fly for them but im sure it will be fine even if it rains. They will be involved in photies for a large part of it.

Hi Maybride, if you have nice grounds a wedding mag I read the other day suggested setting up outside games you can get giant connect 4 and other garden games, and should it be a bit drizzly some of those garden gazebos don't cost too much to put them underneath.

Not sure if that helps x

Ours is at 11, but then we're in Vegas as we've got lots planned including a casino trip and a sunset limo tour - can't wait (4 weeks tomorrow)!
On a more helpful note though, maybe...H2B was Best Man at a wedding last year and their's was at 12. It was then about a half hour drive to the venue and when we got there we were greeted with glasses of fizz whislt the party were off having more photos taken. We didn't eat til about 5.30 (we were all famished and I sent one fo H2B's friends off to the bar in hotel to nab a sandwich or I'd have passed out!) and had entertainers there - characateur (sp?), magician, photobooth, and something else, but I can't remember what I'm afraid!
All I'd say is that I would have liked to have eaten a bit earlier. H2B and I both thought that there was too much of a gap before dinner (over 3 hours until we ate). Hx

yes thats an idea with the games. we ordered a corquet set but then we have stuck with just that incase it rains as we dont want to waste lots of money on games if it will rain and they wont be played.

Ours is at 12.30 and we are having an early evening casino to fill the gap, if it's a sunny day you could have entertainers like jugglers or face painters or even stilt walkers!!!!

We are getting married at 12 then eating at 3ish in the time between we are just going to mingle with the guests and maybe have a string quartet,i went to my brothers wedding on friday and they got married at 1 and we ate at 3:30, in the time between we sat in a lovely garden and had a drink, everyone mingled and the time went fast, Its what you can afford to whether you want to organize some entertainment,

We are thinking of getting giant jenga - but i also dont want to spend too much in case it rains - you can hire outside giant games pretty cheaply too
May be worth looking if there are any suppliers in your area

There are so many people out there who will tell you
    what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!
