Got a wee bit of bad news about boyo's granda yesterday, so we might have to bring it forward and could possibly mean that we are going to be married before the end of this year - the only downside to this is that we will not be able to have everything that we wanted, except for the party afterwards. So now looking at me, h2b, boyo, bm and moh :( H2b wants boyo's granda to know that we are all happy and stable and that he can trust him to look after his grandson.

Sorry to hear about his granda, what about getting married this year and then having a blessing next year or the year after and having everything that you wanted then? Really feel for you in this situation though hun xx

Aww thanks :) its just so hard - I knew as soon as we mentioned the date to them that there was something they were hiding but didn't want to push it as they are a very private couple. He was diagnosed in November last year with lung cancer and already has lived longer than a few of my friends parents who had the same.

He was taken into hospital last Saturday, as he also has pleurisy which they were treating with medication and had to reduce it so that he could go for his scan but it just seemed to set him back completely. Anyway on Tuesday he was told basically that it was time to get his paperwork in order :(. On further discussions what the doctor should have said was that they are going to try a newish drug and then if that doesn't work then there is not much that they can do for him :(. My son is walking me down the aisle and I wanted his granda to see him in all his finery (they have their own tartan!!) but it looks like that might not be possible as they don't even know when/if he will get out of hospital.
