OK so i'm REALLY trying to keep to budget, and i've seen that so many of you have made your own stationery which sounds like a great idea. Would any of you mind sharing photos / tips of how i can make my own?
    Thanks :)

Hey Hannah, have a look in my photo album, shows nearly step by step of what I did!
All depends what you want, some are more complicated some easier! Hope it helps xx

I'm thinking of doing the same hun, although looking for a ready made DIY kit rather than sourcing my own bits and pieces. The invitations I found and loved (in my albums) are being sold at £3.50 EACH on ebay, but I found a company in America that sell the DIY kit of 30 for $40, so about £25. Bit of a difference lol x

Yeah i kinda want them to be pretty fancy and abit different. I'm fairly creative but my mum is VERY creative and, to be honest, she will be doing most of it (heehee) but as for an idea of what i want - i don't really have one :( i just can't decide!! Despite googling constantly, i've not seen anything that's made me go 'yeah, thats what i want' so i'm basically open to suggestions. Erm budget, heck, if i could get away with spending somewhere around £100 on all stationery i would be over the moon, although that's probably abit unrealistic?

Kaz i will have a look now, thanks :)

    Thanks ladies!! xx

Do you have any specific theme for your wedding or a particular love of something like roses, butterflies, jewellery, vintage, quirky etc?? That could be a place to start! x

Thanks Jill, and Hannah, all my invites worked out £33 for 100 wedding/evening invites, got my save the date and rsvp quite cheap (£7) from vp as they keep doing deals and will be making place names and table plan myself nearer the time!

Kaz they are really nice!!! Love them and yeah your step-by=step guide is really helpful - thanks!

That's the other problem Abbey, i don't have a colour theme yet haha. Useless i know. We're thinking of going with 'shabby-chic' rather than picking one or two colours so maybe something to suit that?

I need to get my act together and pick a theme, and go from there i guess. But would love to see what everyone else is doing!! Bit of inspiration.

    xx

    Some different ideas are
    - Ribbons with buckles
    - Stamps
    - Embellishments (hearts/butterflies/rings/flowers etc)
    - Decoupage
You can jazz them up with borders, gems, glitter, ribbon, stamped colour.....
The possibilities are endless - it depends on what colours/theme you want x

Good colours for a shabby chic theme could be cream, peach, pale pink, pale lilac, sage green, pale lemon......?

That's what i thought Kaytee. Basically any colour but in a pastel tone. I think that's possibly the route we're gonna go.

Kaz my favourite colour is probably pink but i don't really wanna go with that as i fancied something a little different? I also realy love teal and there are some images of weddings with teal that look great. But again, i don't look at them and think 'yep, that's what i want' how frustrating is this!!!

Was it really easy for everyone else to pick their colours? Maybe i'm just being too fussy haha.

I picked my 3 favourite colours (light blue, lilac and yellow) and told H2B to have the final say - he picked light blue obviously! So our colours are light blue, white and silver x

I've just looked up shabby chic on google images Hun and there are heaps of ideas on there. For example, if you see this image of shabby chic furniture you get the idea of using maybe gold leaf on pastel card :

So give it a whirl and see what you come up with! You could incorporate small pearl beads, lace etc

There are pics of my half complete invites in my albums. My advice would be if you're not confident, keep it simple. No point stressing yourself out trying to get something complicated completed to perfection

If I hadnt already got things ordered in my colours - gold and chocolate brown - I'd have gone for aqua and choc brown, I think they look beautiful together x

Yeah simple is probably not a bad idea to be fair!! I'm thinking pearlescent card, those silver 'wedding invitation' text things that you all have (i didn't even know you could get them - they're fab!) and something else stuck on the front. I feel like i have a much better idea now guys thanks you've been so helpful :)
