I think that'd be lovely hun - still nice for guests to know what they're doing! We're having a religious ceremony but dont know where to start with mine tbh - I'll maybe wait and until we go to see the priest again, see if he can suggest someone to do them, and how the day will run x

Jill wait till you see the priest some churches do them for you. I make them for our church as well as the parish magazines etc. The order of services come as part of package some places or can be done for small cost extra.
Chezrubba i am having a civil service all in same place and will prob make one purely so everyone has something. I personally keep things like that think its a nice momento of the day for your guests

I had a civil and made my own order of service cards. Our guests loved them and everyone took one home with them. It also told them what time things would take place also what was happening during the ceremony xx

We're debating this too hun. As we're having a civil cermony, I think OOS / OOD is a bit too formal for our day so thinking about having one or two displayed in the bar area instead. We've also put the details on our wedding website for guests to refer to before the day.

I'm making them, so everyone can see the words to the reading, and have a rough idea of where we're at in the ceremony x

I have no idea of what my order of service is gonna be, i will also have to add parts of the day as our pics will be taken at different place as church and wedding breakfast venue!

Looked up as will need these too! Found this list:- The ‘order of service’ normally includes details of the:
Wedding venue, date and time Bride and groom Ceremony format Hymn words Details of the music (optional – but usual to insert as most guests are interested to know) Names of the wedding party (optional – but a nice way to introduce and thank the key attendants)
An example ‘order of service’ would be:
‘Bridal Entrance’ or ‘Processional’ or ‘Entrance of the Bride’ ‘Welcome and Opening Prayer’ ‘Hymn name (and lyrics)’ ‘The marriage’ ‘Signing of the registers’ ‘Reading’ ‘Address’ ‘Prayers’ ‘Hymn two’ ‘The Blessing’ ‘Recessional’
Also stuck a link on my wall to help me, but this woman has included everything they are having that day on hers and I'm sure it's usual to just have the church bit! Hope that's helpful xx

I'm going to be making an 'order of our day'. first page will be a welcome to our day and thanking everyone for coming and sharing it with us. Next page will be a list of the main people with their names, next 2 pages will be for our civil service with the readings printed in there i think. the we'll have a reminder of the menu and than some thank you's. That's about it I think x

Good idea Clare! The woman did include a lovely bit at the bottom to remember the people that can't be with them! Might include a map in the back of mine as the reception is miles away! xx

yeah, all ours is in one place so no need for a map but I really like the idea of putting things on there to remember the people who can't be there. Such a nice touch x

I think we're going to add the details to the invitations rather than have something to hand out on the day
Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)
CommentAuthorKaz
I'm putting directions to the church in the invite but wasn't going to put in reception, plus I was just worrying if they'd forgotten the invite! Obviously they could follow someone but from the church you'd have to pull out of the village onto a very busy road so might get lost!

I've done an Order of Day as well- typed it up a couple of hours ago.
Basically just put down what's happening when- can't have anyone being late!

Im having both. Im having an order of service for the church and i also thought about having something for the venue as well and doubling it up as their place names something like this:
