They're little thank you gifts to the guests. We're getting personalised chocolates done, with the name of each guest on the wrapper (surprisingly not that expensive). They're doubling as placecards.

We are not having any.. I think all the weddding i have been to the wedding favours have been left by so many people that it seems a but of a wast of money..

Favours are a gift for your guests to say thank you for sharing your big day and they can be anything you like to go with your wedding theme or to reflect the bride and groom's personality. If you are worried that the guests will leave them, I would hand them to them at the end of the evening as they are leaving, and to be honest if you give nice decent favours your guests won't leave them behind, sometimes it's worth spending the time and money and give something that makes your guests feel special and that you have really thought about it. I know you pay for the meal and all the entertainment they get, but it is a very old tradition stemming from France and Italy many centuries ago. You don't have to give them, it's up to you.
Happy planning
Maria.

We're having LOROS scratchcards - all proceeds go to the charity - you can win up to £1000, and it's a great way to remember people who can't be with us (my auntie stayed at LOROS, which is a hostel for those with terminal cancer, and they were wonderful) x

We are having edible favours that double as name places.
I think it can be a nice finishing touch to the table, but isnt necessary. Ive never known anyone to expect favours.
