i had an early scan as i have alot of medical problems. at the scan the doc sayed i was 5 weeks but i though i should have be 5 weeks and 5 days i have my 1st midwifes appointment 2mz and i am wondering if because they are a clash in dates if she would send me for another scan get the correct date as i know at 5 weeks or 5 weeks 5 days it can sometimes be hard 2 tell.

You should be sent for a 12 week scan anyway hun ande they can tell you there. I had an early scan then still had the 12 week one x

They will probably just send you for one at 12 weeks, it is later in the pregnancy that they worry more about dates matching. Unless your medical condition means you need more then your regular scan at 12 weeks. Dont worry a five day gap is not an issue at the moment, it is so easy to mismeasuring during the scan. If there were any problems or they were concerned then they would have told you and had you back at 10 weeks.

i lost my first child to anencaphaly, worst form of spina bidifia. So my second baby i had so many scans i lost count, was going to move into the scan unit at the hopstial for the 9 months :) they scaned me everytime a part of her grew, ie heart, brain etc. so believe me if they were concerned they call you back as much as they need to.

Thats what the scan at 12wks is for to date the pregnancy as baby are more acurate for dates then. They wouldn't send you for one until then as baby is still growing. However they normally stick to same due date unless their were more than 2wks difference of the dates xx
