Im doing all ours and saving quite a bit to be honest.

We were quoted £145 just for the invitations we wanted, doing them myself for a total of £55, so defo worth it for us.

that is a saving! well i hadn't had any quotes as of yet but it will probably be best for us to do it ourselves.

some stuff from ebay and the rest from a local craft shop, id defo recommend giving it a go plenty of time to look for someone to make them if your not happy with the outcome xx

oh god yeah ! its amazing the amount of planning in a wedding i would never have believed it before we started, its crazy you just dont think about all the little things that are important when your at other peoples !

I totally understand thats what i was like, everyone kept saying i was a bridezilla and organised too early but im glad now i dont have it all to worry about in the run up !

We've just tonight worked out what we have left to pay - only the kilts, my dress and the cars cant believe how organised we've been it defo pays to start early !

Our local church then a hotel a few mins from there its called the lynnhurst hotel - theres a few pics in my 'weddingy bits' album on my profile if you wanna have a look :) what about you? xx

Enny good luck, you'll have to put some pics up of how you get on.

alana well done at getting so much sorted. lol my dad just laughs at me and can't believe im planning already. "when i got married we sorted things a few weeks before and it cost me £500" he was in disbelief that the cost of his whole wedding wouldn't even cover the photographer now and that our venue was booked up next year and its only because we are having a week day wedding that we got a place. ill have a look at the album. im getting married at st peters church in little aston and venue at new hall hotel, i dont know if i have anything on my profile about it, thats one thing i need to do... update stuff.

I've bought the STD cards, but I'm making everything else, because I can't find anywhere that has anything I liked, I'm going to start making mine over the weekend, so I will post a pic at some point, mine are going o be ticket shaped, carousel shaped, and various other shapes, because we are having a Fun Fair themed wedding. xx

We made StD's and the invitations. I'm not sure that it was particularly cost effective though as my mum went a little crazy with the little crystal diamantes to stick on the invites, which meant I spent about £70 on them alone! It was a lot of fun and really satisfying though. And I've had a lot of comments back about them, with people saying how unique and pretty they were.
For our thanks you's, I'm going to buy these and personalise them a bit rather than make the whole things.
I got everything for the StD's and Invites off the bay, other than the stick on diamantes - couldn't find anything on the bay for these. Hx

I have done all our stationary ourselves worked out so much cheaper!! The invites cost £35 for 200 and the order of service cost £15 - its all on really lovely card which is why it put the price up a bit.

Yep - I have my own 'business' making cards, stationery and toys (all handmade by moi!) so making my own invites/table plan/placecards etc was an obvious choice - and a lot cheaper! Plus you get exactly what you want!

Mine's in my photo album, just done the fronts at the mo, will be printing inserts out nearer the time. 100 cost me £33 for materials off the bay and will have to buy cream paper for the inserts!

I plan on making all my own stationary, invites, StD's and order of service if I can! Have no clue what kind of design to do yet, but a lot of craft shops have little cards you can take with ideas on them. I take my camera everywhere and just take pictures of things I like :) how long did you guys take to make them all to the standard you were happy with?

    xx

we have designed and printed all our own invites, based ours on a welsh lovespoon design as one of the first things H2B bought me was a welsh lovespoon when we went away together. As he is welsh and i have moved to Wales it seemed a good idea

We handmade our invitations... all 100 of them! You definitely need commitment to get them done, lol.
If you plan on using stencils, be warned- when I was done, I announced that I will never use a stencil again. I suspect when my little sister-in-law discovers stencils and gets me to join her, I may have some sort of Vietnam flashback, haha

Oh Kev's Angel, they are beautiful and you would pay a fortune for them if you had them made pro. I am in the process of starting to make ours. The hardest bit I find is to get that finished look, especially when working with lace, it's really hard I find to make it look neat and tidy.

I will be making all of my invitations and thank you cards myself. With such a small guest list (currently only 20 people) it shouldn't be such a large task. My little sister is sending me design ideas from her graphic design friends at uni and I have a hoard of card blanks, envelopes, sticky crystals, ribbons and whatnot all stashed away in my crafty corner so I should have minimal extra costs. One tip I would give is to not over do it, if you spend too much time trying to get it perfect it can end up being a bit of a mess. But it is a lot of fun, really worth a try

We're making our invites but this was because I wanted to, not because of cost and I''m very pleased with them. In total they've cost us £135 for 30 daytime, 50 evening, printing service, ribbon and diamantes...they could have come in cheaper if we wanted them too and the website is great...I'll put some links on your wall if you want. Pics of my invites are in my albums if you want to have a look.

I've just spent the last 5 hours working on my wedding stationery and am almost finished with the daytime invitations - and I only have 30 lol. Still need to put the ribbon on and sort out the envelopes then they're done... and then I have another 30 evening invitations to do, and then 100 OOS!!
