We have got the vicar coming around tonight to discuss the order of service, how many hymns and readings are there during the service, so far i have chosen 2 hymns and heve asked 2 people to do readings for us. Is this enough?

when we had our meeting, our minister said we could have 2 or 3 hymns, and 2 or 3 readings, we are having 3 hymns and 2 readings also my daughter is reading a short poem. i think it all varies from vicar to vicar, if you have a 3rd hymn, just have that as stand by incase you need 3. should be ok thou. x

We had the choice of either 3 hymms or 2 hymms and 1 piece of music. We went for the 2nd option. And we had 2 readings. Remember 1 reading has to be from the bible x
I am now Mrs Stacey Stiles and loving it!

We're having 3 hyms and 2 readings. Only chosen one of each so far - the hymn we're having is Love Divine All Loves Excelling, and the reading is called The Hands Ceremony or something along those lines! OH wanted Jerusalem - not a chance!

We're having 2 hymns, Lord of the Dance and Give me Joy (Sing Hosanna) Thought they would be tuneful and easy to sing. We actually have on our to-do list 'practice hymns'! lol. We have 2 readings 1 from the bible the other is this, The One When the one whose hand you're holding Is the one one who holds your heart When the one whose eyes you gaze into Gives your hopes and dreams their start, When the one you think of first and last Is the one who holds you tight, And the things you plan together Make the whole world seem just right, When the one whom you believe in puts their faith and trust in you, You've found the one and only love You'll share your whole life through.
My friend found it and I think it's lovely she said last night she was worried about it being too slushy but I love it.

Think it's entirely dependant on your vicar, ours is really quite relaxed and said it was entirely up to us and we didn't have to have any hymns but he would like one reading - so we've gone for 1 hymn and 2 readings :) Our hymn is God, In the Planning and Purpose of Life :)
Now, finally, Mrs Riley
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I have the greatest husband!

We are having 3 hymns and 2 readings. Our vicar said it was normal to have 3 but that could just be the church where we are getting married. MIL2b has just printed out the readings for her and MOH so it is easier to read out in larger print, especially as they are a bit nervous doing it. Can't wait! x
Finally reunited with the love of my life
