I have been trying to contact my dj for the last 2 weeks to ask him when he wants our song list of music choices and a cd i have put together with some irish music on that i know he wont have...

Long story short, Phil our dj is supposed to be going abroad tomorrow to dj in a bar for the next 5 weeks and was supposed to come back 3 days before the wedding - he works in a pub near manchester citys ground as a dj there and has been djing after the take that concerts this week which means he hasnt organised his stuff to leave manchester tomorrow.. He has postponed his flight till friday which means he wont be back in manchester till the friday night before the wedding... he has just told me this and told me that he can no longer be our dj in case he is delayed or is asked to stay on extra time where-ever it is he is going..

He is a family friend and we had him at a discounted rate so we were happy as our budget was tight! But now after this revelation, we have 5 weeks to find an alternative within the budget we had for phil as we have no extra funds for someone dearer. In the height of wedding season.. it is highly likely we will not be able to get one!!!!

Absolutely fuming!!!!!!

I had problems with my DJ also.... so i understand your anger!

I booked the DJ for Radio Solent.
He was Brilliant and talked and laughed etc during the nights of the discos we had been too.. he also did our new years ever party at our local club...

We booked him and he confirmed etc..
then one night we went to our local club when he was supposed to be DJ'ing and it was another DJ...
We asked the Bar Staff what had happened as it was supposed to of been him.. we was told that he has bugg ered off on a cruise ship as his marriage had broken down...

I told H2B, and he said maybe he'd be back, so i left it for another 4 weeks and heard nothing from him. I emailled him and he mailled me back saying he was really sorry but he had to escape.... and told me about his wife etc....

i felt sorry for him however WHEN WAS I GONNA GET TOLD HE WASNT DOING MY WEDDING MUSIC!!!!!

So i got intouch with another DJ, explained and he came round the next night and said he'd love to do our wedding disco....
i sent him wedding music etc, and he kept intouch..

Then 5 weeks ago H2B and me changed our First dance song as we had been practicing it and it was too slow.. we couldnt even shuffle to it LOL
So i sent him a email to tell him what the change was and why... never heard a thing.. so i called and called and called.... I was getting worried AGAIN!

But thank god he called me a few days later saying he had been on holiday and all was fine and that he had got the email and to stop worrying...

I REALLY hope you can get a DJ in time!!

thats appauling. If he was professional he should have called you. I am sure you will find one from somewhere and perhaps family could loan the extra money until after the wedding? Alternatively is there anything you can sell on ebay etc to get some extra funds.

I think we have it sorted now! I rang davids brother who is our best man.. i didnt know this but another friend of ours djs but not as a job, just as a hobby - he is a lovely guy and we all love him to bits and he has offered to help us out and dj for us at our wedding.. I dont know how much he charges but to be honest i dont care! I could kiss him! haha! xxxx
