Right, I've been looking for a table plan for a couple days but they're SO expensive!!! So what I'd like to know is, have any of you ladies made your own and how successful was it? I'm torn between going for one of the DIY kits that you just have to print the names on to or doing it all myself and handwriting the names in calligraphy. And if I decide to do that, what will I need? I know the wedding is ages away yet but am just trying to get little bits paid for before the big things need paying off!
Oh also, we've got birds of paradise on our invitations and I'd quite like to keep birds as a theme running throughout the wedding stationary but birds of paradise designs are hard to find - do you think it matters if I go for loads of different kinds of birds instead? I've managed to find some invitation inserts (for hotel info) with birds of paradise on but the place cards are either going to be doves or bluebirds. Do you think it matters if they're different?
    Thanks ladies xxxxxxx

We made our own (on the computer) ... it was a lot of printing and cutting! We went onto google images for pics we wanted and just saved the pics and then inserted them in. I don't think it will make a difference if the birds are different, but it is entirely your own personal choice if you want them to all be the same. Are you having the place names made? Will they put a different image on if you provide it?

i was going to get them from vista print, but i could always get my friend who made my invites to do them, then he could put the same birds on. I just dont want to ask him to do too much as its our wedding present and I feel cheeky - besides the fact that he has a full time job already and is doing this as a favour...i'm not so fussed about the birds not matching, i think it would be sort of sweet to have lots of different types but i dont know if other people will just think i couldnt be bothered matching it up xx

To be honest, your guests won't even notice! We got pictures of white roses and purple flowers to put on ours, as the bouquets were ivory roses and purple lisianthus, and the table centres were purple hydrangeas ... but the purple flowers pic was neither of those and no-one mentioned it ... not even my sister who glued it to the board for us xx

Could you not find some pictues and get them printed on to card then use the sticky foam to put them on the table planner so they are raised?
