I love the idea of having a Groom's cake, but I want it to be a surprise...
Is anyone having one and how are you doing it? Does you h2b know about it? I was thinking of maybe doing a speech and having it as a surprise during the speech I make? What do you ladiez think?

Yes, some brides were discussing it last night on general chinwag and it gave me the idea... xx

Live every moment
Laugh everyday
Love beyond words
Happily ever after
The more cake the better I say. plus H2B loves horror movies, so it would be like a little thing for him in a day that is mostly about me lol xx

after a quick search this is what I found on the subject of a grooms cake.....
Intended to be a gift from the bride to the groom, the groom's cake is usually dark (often chocolate or liquor-soaked) and designed with a nod toward what's traditionally considered "masculine" (i.e., no rosettes in sight).
The groom's cake can serve many purposes, from dessert at the rehearsal dinner to an alternative choice to the bride's cake at the wedding. It's customary for the groom's cake to be displayed next to the bride's cake and later cut and put into boxes for guests to take home. And believe it or not, legend has it that single women are supposed to sleep with a slice under their pillow the same night they receive it -- and if they do, they'll dream of their future husband.
.... so basically an excuse of more cake!

I don't particularly need an excuse but more cake... but I'm going with it lol xx

i think your wedding is going to become a Cake Theme at this rate
CommentAuthorBarbieBride
It was always going to happen hahaha

And it can also be an excuse to go for a totally mental cake... while still getting to have your dream wedding cake.
I think a few people on here are having them, they are usually themed around something your h2b is interested in... I know Special Sundae was saying she wants to get a VW shaped cake as her h2b loves them... I'm thinking of getting my h2b one for when we have our at home reception, his would be gaming related as that's his passion :)

i don't think the figurines would really represent what would actually happen... Barbie would hide behind H2B while with a PS3 contoller he would try and kill them lol
CommentAuthorBarbieBride
:) yay, I'm so inspired! Thanks! xx
CommentAuthorBarbieBride
Or to make it funnier he could be hiding behind the bride lol xx

lol that cakes brilliant! We'll just be having one, h2b's not into cake really, he's not overly bothered about our main one so it'd be a waste. Love the idea though. Infact I'd like him to get me one just for me lol x
