I only thought about having a wedding card box the other day - kind of overlooked it lol. I looked on the Internet to buy one and was horrified at how expensive they are! So, I decided I would buy a plain box and decorate it. The problem is, I have no idea where to start, having zero creative talent!!! I bought my box today at £5.00, some black crepe paper and two kinds of purple ribbon. I am thinking of lining the inside of the box with the crepe paper, and looking for some pretty purple paper to cover the outside of the box. Not sure what to do with the ribbon yet, and I guess I will need to make a card for the front of the box to say what it is lol. I was also looking for some purple/black butterflies or something similar to stick on the sides - what do people think? Does it sound really crap??? Can anyone suggest any other ideas or advise me where I can buy nice purple or black 'things' to stick on it?? Lol thank you xxxxx

I was gonna say keep it simple too! We have a butterfly hole punch bought from the bay of e that we used on our invites and place settings. We bought an ivory post box from bay of e for a fiver and will put a fuschia ribbon and a few butterflies on to tie in with the theme! x
is Mrs Suzie Bear!!!!
Gotta be pink!!! :0)
I think I blinked and missed our wedding!! lol
I saw one that had been covered in patterned cello wrap and then ribboned, saw the idea on bay of e and was going to do myself, but then I saw the Royal Mail post boxes and decided on one of those instead....

Update on making my wedding card post box: I have covered the outside of the box and the lid with pretty purple patterned paper. I have lined the inside of the box and lid with black crepe paper - took me bl**dy hours and I was soooo stressed out and fed up by the time I had finished lol. It looks ok but not as impressive as I had hoped (maybe I am being too harsh on myself). I have several different kinds of purple ribbon as I can't decide which to use, think I will ask my mum for help as I have exhausted my creative talents lol. I have asked my h2b to print off a little card to stick on the front so everyone knows what it is. I thought if he prints it on white paper, I can stick it on purple card to give it a border, and possibly glue ribbon round the edge of the card. I also thought I could glue a ribbon round the edge of the lid and possible have a ribbon and bow round the box (with lots of help from my mum lol). Thank you to everyone for your suggestions and pictures, they have given me lots of ideas. I will post some pictures up when it is finally done :-) xxx

I've done a bit more to our wedding box tonight - Mark has printed off a card saying 'Katherine & Mark - 19th June 2011 - Wedding post box'. I have mounted it on purple card and will stick it on the box tomorrow with some purple ribbon around the edge and some more around the box lid :-) I'm not the most creative of people so I am really chuffed it looks half decent lol.
