Hi all Just wondered how everyone is getting to their venue? Im not overly bothered in what I arrive in, but everyone thinks I have to go in something nice. I have got a few quotes for a vintage VW Camper (£175 for a green one and £375 for a nicer cream one), and one for a route master (£450). how are you all travelling, may help me decide what to do!! x

im going in mums car (providing we are still on talking terms) and hubby to be even though he drives doesnt want to pay parking (cheap skate haha) and is going in by bus :) hehehheh

welooked at quotes and some of them are just stupid, cheapest has been about £400 and its a 3min walk to the church and then a 10min drive to reception so I am thinking about walking to the church or we will use my parents car as they have a nice audi. I just cant justify that sort of cash!x

mmm same here! mine is all in one place and is a 15 minute drive, plus no one will see me anyway as they'll all be seated. So its mainly just for photos!
im staying at the venue so will just walk down to reception and then to my room xx

I had an 8 seater white stretch limo with ribbons, bows and champers. We had it for an hour and we drove all round the town showing off lmao..we really only needed it for 5 minutes as we were only going round the corner lol myself and the bridesmaids and pageboys all went together..we had loads of fun..it cost £175

We have hired a black and ivory double decker bus, which will take all the guests and h2b to the ceremony and then it will return to collect myself, my Dad and my bridesmaids

We are having everything in the same place BUT because i have a black lab who malts EVERYWHERE me and the girls will be staying in a hotel the night before (the one i wanted to have but was wayyyyyyyyy over budget, so h2b said i can stay and get ready there instead so me and my girls will be having a pamper night) so we have this....

to take us to our venue in ;-) Then some of the bm's will go in my sister's car! But because we are only going one way in it and want it for photo's we got it for half price hehehe
When we first met we went to a car show and a car like this was there and we both said if we ever got married this would be the car we would have :-)

We are having Mercedes cars, as my Sister works for them so we don't have to pay !

Me and my BMs are staying at the venue the night before, and getting ready there on the morning. My OH and I haven't decided yet if we're marrying at the venue where we're having the wedding breakfast/reception etc, or at the town hall across the road; if the latter, me and my BMs will walk across if the weather's good, or take a taxi if not.
Even if I had to travel to the venue I don't think I'd get transport, I'd rather spend the money on something else, but if you want the VW camper, go for it! Sounds pretty cool :-)

My MoH and I will be travelling in my dad's Jag. We were going to hire a car but since I'll be getting ready at the venue, coming out of a Rolls in jeans and a tube top wouldn't quite have that wow factor, lol.

I am going in our car, it is my h2b pride and joy, a Volvo s80. It is a good looking car and with the ribbon on it will be transformed. We didn't see the point of paying for a vintage car to travel from our house to the church about 1/2 mile away and then back to our house again for our garden party, lol. My MOH did offer to try and get a really sporty car as she works in that industry but for just that distance I was happy with our car. xx

We've got a VW camper in white. It's taking the groom, best man, bm and usher first then coming back for me and my dad - then after the ceremony taking both of us back to the reception. We're only getting married about 5 minutes (or less) from the hotel where we're having the reception (and staying) but I love camper vans and h2b finally gave in to my hints lol. We got it for £250.

Its costing us £450 but we get it for 4 hours, a bus driver, a conductor and the guests that travel on it with us after the wedding ceremony will get a souvenir wedding bus ticket! Cannot wait! xxx

i have spoken to a local private hire firm which do prestigious cars. they have quoted me £80.00 from my destination to ceremony and then from there to hotel. they even include smartly dressed driver and ribbons and remove their signage!!!

I'm going to be staying at the venue, the night before. We wanted to save on transport, as the venue is not too far from where we live. Although money we would have saved, has been spent on some little extras :)

we have had a price from a stretch limo company and they will do me 2x 8 seaters for £450 (thats for both not each) thats from my house with me 3 brides maids and dad to the church then from the church 16 of us to hotel for pics then to venue

My grandads taking me, as he has a Bentley! However, I'm being told by my H2B that we will be going from the church to reception venue on a trailer being pulled by a John Deere! Don't know if a tractor really fits into my dream wedding, but we'll see! Lol xx

my h2bs boss is lending us his jag complete with chauffer for the day with another car for the bridesmaids for free so im well happy i always wanted a horse and cart but too pricey and would rather spend the money on something more worthwhile xx
