Just a silly thought, but still curious about it...
One of my bridesmaids is getting married before me and I believe that traditionally that should make her my matron of honour. If thats right, then surely that gives her the same level of importance as a maid of honour, which she isnt as she is one of my sisters and I cant place more importance on one over the other and still be fair.
This isnt exactly an important issue or anything, I was just curious as to whether it fits with tradition to have a married bridesmaid, or whether the term bridesmatron can be used. I think if I called a bridesmatron it would wind her up which is another plus! :)

Same here, my MoH isn't married either, actually, I'm the first one out of all my friends, which is weird - haven't noticed that before!!! I think traditionally, BM's were young so therefore expected not to be married. But I think that was a looooong time ago as I'm not sure this really applies these days. Not much help there, I know, sorry! Hx
Vegas baby!

Oh and my MoH would KILL me if she knew I was calling her that - she thinks it makes her sound old!!! SO I have to try to call her my Chief BM LOL!
i dont have a moh! i just have 2 bm. much easier then and no argueing but one is doing more than the other so in theory she is but she isnt married

I dont have a moh either. My sister in law is getting married this august, but wont be any different from the other girls. Only have my sister and my neice as a flower girl. Would love more, but it would change everything xx

Two of my bridesmaids are married, as is my matron of honour. I gave her that role as she is my bestest bestest friend lol. I don't actually think it matters in this day and age :)
I love my lickle Ava

My Chief bridesmaid wasn't married (well she was only 17!!!). One of the other bridesmaids was. They are just titles really- all three girls were equally important in different ways.
Now a extremely happy German housewife and now a Mother!!!!

Im not sure but I think I read somewhere that a Matron of Honour is a married version of a Maid of Honour!!!! (iykwim) and it doesnt matter if a bridesmaid is married they are still a bridesmaid!!!! xx

I found the titles quite useful actually as i'm my sisters chief bridesmaid tomorrow (as not married yet! Lol) and she wants to be mine as does my best friend. I was getting a bit worried as i love them both dearly but my mum said that my sister could be MoH as she will be married and my best friend can be chief bridesmaid-everyones a winner!
I don't think it actually means much anymore though. :0) xx
