Hi Girls how far ahead do you send save the date cards? why send them at all, do guests reply to them?
CommentAuthorUnknown
i sent mine out 11 months before and only to the day guests. it is just so guests are aware that they are invited as people always make plans. 2 of my friends are getting married aug 2012 and we have already had save the date! and guests dont normally reply to them either

We sent ours out a year before to the people who we were inviting to the whole thing ... except for one couple who got bumped down to evening, but I don't think they've noticed :-) We sent them so that people would make a not not to make any other plans for that day, and we weren't expecting a reply.

i sent mine out with christmas cards .... so 18mth ahead , this was only because our wedding is on a long weekend next year and this goes into half term for schools
We sent ours out a year before our wedding date so that people knew what we were planning and that they would be invited. This has allowed our guests to book time off work, book travel and accomodation if needed..... We didnt get any replies to them, we werent expecting any. We are planning to send out our invites in october / november so we have 5 months to get rsvps etc....

We sent ours out in March/April for July next year. We wanted to make sure that people had as much notice as possible as it is holiday (and wedding!) season!
Very happy to say I'm now Mrs Keates and loving it!

we are thinking of sending ours out for april 2012 as soon as they are done lol so about july this year (they are at my MOH's and she is busy all the damn time)
CommentAuthormym72
We sent ours out about 16 to 18 months before - but that's because we're getting married away from home so it gave guests time to book accommodation etc.
CommentAuthorlozzatea
so, would you send the to daytime guests only?
CommentAuthorP
I'm going to send them to daytime only guests in the next month or so.
I know people don't reply to them but I was thinking of asking for a provisional RSVP because then If they said no I don't have to send them a proper invitation and can fill there place with other people... what do you think??
CommentAuthorlozzatea
that was my thinking,i think it would give you a better idea of back up guests etc... but then how would you word it?
CommentAuthorP
I'm just putting contact information on it and hoping they will let me know if they can't because my mum said it might sound odd asking for RSVP twice?

I think were going to send ours between September and Christmas, might even send them with Christmas cards! And just to the day guests so they remember the date and don't make other plans :)
