I know some people probably don't like why but basically my dad has offered to give us a grand for the wedding so at first she said we will give you double so 2grand.. Anyways gone to ask the minimum amount she can definately give so we can do the budget properly to her reply "Don't Know" ..
So stuff it we do it all ourselves ... And she has said about 3/4 times why not leave getting married for a few yrs ..

i love my mil she's gr8! we didnt ask anyone for money i think it complicates things sometimes and we didnt want to put pressure on either sets of parents

its so hard family politics i've just had this convo with my sil2b! over her daughters christening which was last week and her hubby isnt speaking to his parents after it and doesnt look like he will either! nightmare xx

its quite easy hun,they wanted to come to visit at easter but we had already made plans and had appointments with cam,she said cant you change them,i said no,she huffed and puffed tried getting around glenn,so in the end i txt her and said look,wev made plans with the kids and cam has important appointments (hes autistic) do not expect me to drop everything just to please you. she didnt like it but i wasnt having it,she carried on trying to make us feel guilty but me and glenn ignored it

cam (camron) is my baby boy although hes 11,hes got asd (autism) hyperpronation (walks on his toes) and they now think ocd.he gave me away last year with my dad,and hes just been asked to join the dragons swimming squad with hopes of entering the 2016 olympics,he makes me proud every day

my mil tried to get in between me and h2b she would make little digs at me at first h2b thought i was making it up till his dad saw her do it and i said to my h2b ask your dad and he said yes she does so now shes as good as gold cos if she crosses me she wont be seeing the kids at all. she still tries to do the string pulling with h2b but Ive told him to wise up to her, and if she nags him she gets a clear no from me via text lol

I can't stand mine, thankfully h2b doesn't like her either but the last time we went down for the weekend she made up some ridiculous story about me blowing a raspberry in her face and walking off and refusing to hug her goodbye at our engagement party - I was on cloud nine that night and would have hugged anyone and everyone, plus I NEVER blow raspberries, it's just not a 'me' thing to do, so she's made up this story about me to make everyone feel sorry for her and to get attention - all it's done is really p*ss me off, made me dislike her even more and want to distance myself and h2b from her even more than we have!! So now I will be polite but make no effort with her at all.
Think those that get on with MIL's are really lucky xx

Yep I would love to get on with my mil but everything she does irritates me and she doesn't pay much attention to my daughter :| I've never hugged my MIL or kissed her on cheek or anything like that. All too weird for me lol xx

My MIL is great most of the time, her only bad point is she can be a bit long winded so you 'pop' over to see her and it takes her an hour so tell you a simple story. Lol. I think she's just a bit lonely as she's widowed and was unable to drive and get about for almost a year due to a leg injury. Thankfully she's right as rain again now though.
AND she asked us how the saving for the wedding was going, when we said it could be better she asked for my savings account details which i gave her and she put £2k in there!!

Yeah she is - horrible woman!! Up until that happened I was always urging h2b to try and make amends with his mum, which I don't think she realises, but not doing that anymore! It's just a shame as it means we don't get to see his sister or dad.

Yeah she is good but then Ian did a lot for her when she hurt her leg. She ripped all the ligaments in her knee and he was round there before work to get her breakfast, in his lunchbreak and at tea time and i think it's her way of showing her appreciation. Ian gets on with my mum and dad really well too. xx

me and MIL do not get on at all, at first i was like the daughter she never had and would tell me everything, then her younger husband didnt get on with h2b so she started disliking me, she told ray to move out and made hints all the time at flats and everything so ray said hes moving in with me and my mum, oooo MIL did not like that, she said i meant move out but to some where else, she basicly gave him 2 weeks to move out, logically we asked him to move in with us, she hasnt spoken to him now for nearly 2 years and wont be coming to our wedding or having anything to do with our kids. shes always speaking bad about ray to family members and she doesnt like that when she sent ray a filthy rude letter in post saying she doesnt want him to marry me and he needs to get his priorities straight, i sent reply letter back to her telling her how dare she say that when her husband who is 20 yrs younger than her doesnt work, sits on xbox all day and doesnt even attempt any work and spends all their money on tobacco. yea dont get on at all.

MrsLewis2be- it sounds like her husband is dictating who she speaks to/likes/gets on with unfortunately! That can be really hard, but hopefully she will come around soon!! P.S. Being a Lewis is awesome ;)

My future mother in law is lovely, we get on really well and I'm more than happy to spend some time alone with her just to chat. She's never caused any problems between me and OH, in fact the whole family are fab.

i know its her husband, its when the novelty of me and ray being around weared off he started to be like it and at rays bros sons christening he was saying to rays nana and grampi
" oh i hated having caz (me) around cos she was always jumpy and walked loudly and always nervous and nearly dropped things" so rays grampi (whos is walking me down aisle) kicked off and said i dont bloody blame her being nervous when your so horrible to her all the time, nana had to drag him away
MILs hubby sis asked ME to babysit this one time and before then i had never held a new born, (baby was about a week old) and baby started crying i said what should i do and liam (MILs hubby) took baby off me and said she doesnt like you god help you if you ever become a mother! i ran upstairs crying. he was a noob
and then he sunk his claws into her and she ended up being just as bad, she still gets to see rays son (ray hasnt got to see him for 2 years cos hes gettin married to me, oh and btw his ex is already married) and its cos she doesnt talk to ray, i say if it wasnt for ray she wouldnt have a grand child at all. this is why ray is adament she will have nowt to do with ours, cos she went against all rays wishes when his son was born (he didnt want liam to be called grampi and low and behold she taught his son to call liam grampi)
gah! i envy the brides out there who get on with their MILS x xx x x
