as neither of the sets of parents have been active in our wedding ( in fact mr lalas parents are now saying they are not coming) we decided to just have the people who are in vegas for out 1st cermony sat on the top table ..making just 6 of us , anyway went out last night with one of the couples for my friend to say she doent want to as she " wasnt happy with peole looking at her at her own wedding" so now i`m back to who do i have there ? i have had the thought that maybe i should have us and my children ....what do you think ? then i will feel bad towards the pther couple who can no longer sit there .....
Is a top table strictly necessary? I spoke to one venue who said that we could have a big sort of horseshoe of rectangular tables put together and then the top table just becomes merged with all the other tables. Sounds slightly "conference-y" but it would mean no-one is specifically singled out. Just a thunk

our venue has round tables .......and tbh i just wanted to have one of those but mr lala has his heart set on a top table and they are the only oblong ones
Yer seems a nice idea to have u n kids on it, nice and simple. We had a similar issue, mother of the groom she doesn't want to sit on top table so luckily his step mom has said she will to balance out but will It look funny if we don't get her a pressie or flowers?

well told mr lala ..... he said .... they can ****** sit where they are told , lol .... we now wonder if it is to do with thier daughter who is a spoilt brat and was whinging that she would be sat on her own, she will be almost 17 at the time and knows mt youngest daughters a bit so was going to sit them together.

my top table has 12 people on it , and its becoming a nightmare deciding who to sit their, i know technically it should be the bm and best men etc, but that just makes me angry as then its mainly all oh family and mine get flung onto the other tables and i dont want that, so i just dont know what to do.
I like your idea of you and the kids that woud be sweet, and dont worry about what others think its your day have it your way
