    Hi.

Is anyone using colours that aren't normally used the time of year your getting married?
For example bright pink at Christmas or Yellow in Autumn and Black in Summer?

My wedding's the 5th November and forever being told to use autumnal colours like oranges and browns but I really don't like it. I've gone through so many different colour's now but I really have my heart set on having navy blue and purple as my main colours and use ascents of yellow, I'd probably only use the yellow in my flowers and navy blue and purple in dresses, invites and on the table.

The problem is when I've mentioned these colours to people they tell me they are spring colours and it won't work in Autumn, it wouldn't look right in photo's with the fallen leaves and bare tree's. However it is firework night and I think the dark colours with the splash of yellow kind of represent the night sky and stars.

Really not sure what to do!

p.s Sorry it's another colour thread from me, I promise I will make my mind up eventually I just really want opinions on whether these colours will work that time of year.

I love the bouquets! I have to admit, when you were talking about using them, I wasn't sure, but seeing them has made all the difference. They're so beautiful!

Go with the colours that you are happy with Melody rather than ones that supposedly relate with the season. I think midnight blue and purple with ascents of yellow is a fab choice and the flowers look gorgeous. I know I never considered the season when I got married and just went with the colours I loved.

Go with your heart as only you knows what feels right. xx

I think the season thing is a load of crap and we chose the colours we liked and would have them regardless of what time of year it is. Go with what you and the h2b like.

We r always being told we shouldn't be having navy blue in the summer as it's too dark but I have always thought I would have white, navy blue and silver colours for my wedding so that is what we r having!! It's your day you choose what you want x

When we first started planning, navy white and silver were the colours we were having. It then changed to navy and orange, then navy and gold, now navy and purple lol. I just can't decide. I just can't picture how I want my wedding!

Basically what i'm trying to say is you have what YOU want, its your day, ignore the doubting thomases who think it wont work :o)

We are having cadburys purple in June..maybe not your typical summer colour but who cares we like it. Its your wedding day so if you 2 are happy with the colours you have chosen then you stick with them, everybody else can choose their colours on thier wedding day!

Also I like the colours you have picked and the flowers :) x

You have to stop listening to other people and go with what you and h2b wants!
It doesnt matter what the season is as the splashes of colour are set off by the background of your midnight blue dresses, it is those colours going together and not suiting the season. Lots of people are having black/white black/ivory in the summer as we are and they are not exactly summer colours but who cares?
Does h2b like the purple and yellow now?

I don't think your colours are for spring at all. Maybe the yellow but that's it. Your bouquets look amazing and will suit November. Spring colours are usually more pastels, pale pink, blue, yellow and green. Navy blue and purple are fine for autumn and the yellow just makes it more interesting and different. x

We are getting married in August 2014 and we were originally going to have bright pink of Gerberas as they are my favourite flower however when I chose my dress they just wouldnt look right.
So we are settled on teal/ jade for bridesmaid dresses and ushers ties etc with white/ cream flower in my boquet and then we are using the white, teal and bright pink in decorations i.e our m n m favours and flowers on the tables.
