went to book our reception venue last night only to find they dont have the date we wanted. only decision we have is to either look for another venue that lets us do our own catering or change the date to the following saturday. really dont know what to do, as i have been looking for ages to find another venue but could only find this 1. all h2b says is phone them and see if they could let us have the 26th may but like i kept saying to him we cant have it if its already booked, sometimes talking to him is like talking to a brick wall.

A week isnt a massive issue and it will be easier than finding a new venue.
We had to change out date from August 13 to September 10 thats like a month!! so a week isnt too bad.

nothing really, but my mum said if i change the date and when it comes round if the 26th is really nice and the 2nd june aint im gonna be gutted, but at the same time if its the other way around and i dont change id be gutted aswell. i picked the 26th may as its around the time we met but when i looked at the 2nd june i realised its nearer to the time we said we love each other

You can never never ever rely on the british weather - so dont even take that into consideration at this stage!!
i think you just make it a week later - it will be way less stressful.
We're getting married in September because the weather is supposed to be nice then, but god knows - it could be snowing for all I know - so I am not taking it into consideration.

Kimi, have you looked at the Fry's Club in Keynsham, by the chocolate factory? the factory has been closed down but I know Fry's is still open and running and are having a refurb before Christmas. I'm sure you can do your own catering there but even if you can't its so cheap. I think room hire is £200 and you can have a fork and knife buffet for £18 a person or a finger buffet for £14 a head. It's a lovely venue, grounds are nice for pictures and you get everything included, red carpet, table place cards, menu's etc.
Hope you find somewhere though and good luck if not you'll have to just move it back a week, it shouldn't make too much of a difference

already looked into that one, got to have there food and h2b doesnt want to pay that much per head when a family friend who has a catering buisness is going to do it for literally next to nothing :) otherwise we were gonna have ashton gate as its not too far for my family to travel
