I am having a hot buffet to save money for my reception. I don't know if to still plan the setting and place people on tables or just let them sit any where and just have the main table for me and the groom excetra>
What is everyone else doing?

I went to a wedding that was a buffet and they still had a seating plan. I think you should still have 1 x

we are most likely having a cold fork buffet, and i will be doing a setting plan so now one is getting all stressed about where to sit and no one is sat alone etc. plus it gets people to sit down quicker

I am most likely having a buffet instead of set menu for breakfast and I will defo have a seating plan.
Soon to be Mrs Gary Doublé
Everything is now booked
Getting really stressed and excited now
I agree, i think a seating plan would make things easier for everyone on the day xx

i was going to let people sit where they wanted but knew it would cause mayhem as everyone will end up huddled round in groups and itll do my headin so now decided on seating plan x

we are having an evening buffet, for 150 people, but we are having 80 people come to the ceremony, as we are having speeches etc between the ceremony and the buffet, we are have seating for 100 people, so will seat the 80 people attending the ceremony, and setting out a table plan, the others than come in the evening can sit at the available spaces, or in the bar area, lounge area or garden area of just stand and mingle. people will probably move from table to table, but the spaces will still be there if they want to return to them later on :) x
I have know my soulmate for 27 years and on the 6th August

I agree with everyone else on here, if you don't have a seating plan your going to have some tables with loads of people crammed round it. People can always sit where they want when the evening reception starts.
I love my lickle Ava

Quick question.
How do people do the seating plans. Want to DIY it - where do you find card big enough etc?

we're just having a bbq for our reception....but are still going to have a seating plan and then a few spare tables incase people want to mix it up a bit ha.....we've just got a big bit of slate and will be using chalk to write our seating plan onto it...cheap, cheerful but looks amaaaazing!xx

The Range has card big enough and cheap enough ;-) Depending on your theme you can pick up a nice framed mirror and blue-tac individual printed cards onto it.

My friend also had a seating plan and it means that everyone sits together with the people they know etc. There would be nothing worse if couples had to be split up etc because of the way everyone had sat down and left the spare seats.
