Anyone gettin married may next year? I am gettin married 18th May 2012. Thought i would make this discussion up, if anyone was gettin married then and wanted to find out how everyone else is gettin on with there plans and stuf...
Well so far all we have done is email a few people about catering.. and have phoned the evening venue up all we need to do it go down and see her and then book it.. and need to go see the church and minister to talk things over..

hey we were going to be getting married next may too but have decided to put it back a bit but we had rung n visited venues (as they get booked up early) n spoken to photographers and a couple of bands. the reg office told us we could book now which is good! (this was in jan lol) but yeah you sound like you into the swing of things xx good luck with all the planning and enjoy it xxx

Hi May B2Bs! We are getting married on the 6th May and have booked the venue (we are having a civil ceremony rather than church wedding), the registrars, I've bought my dress and some of my table decorations. Other than that I have just been researching and keeping myself busy to pass the time!

Hello!! We're getting married on 12th May too! We've booked the venue, bought my dress and shoes, bridesmaids dresses, booked photographer, ordered my accessories and ordered RSVPs and some table decs. God I sound obsessed!! lol. xxx

We're having sky blue as our main colour so the bridesmaids dresses, chair sashes, scatter crystals and cake will all have sky blue on them and we're having white, baby pink and yellow flowers to compliment it. Sounds bizarre I know but it actually looks gorgeous and very summery :o)

As far as planning is concerned I hit a road block. The colours I have chosen didnt go down well with bridesmaids. I am terrible at designing things. Took me months to chose thre colours.

im getting married on the 12th May 2012 - so far all i have done it sort out the venue and photographer. Going to look at cake places and florists this weekend. I have tried on dresses but keep changing my mind about what i want lol x

Well we had to postpone our wedding this year was the 1st may so i'm now a 2012 bride too!!! :-)
We are getting married on 6th may 2012!!! So it gives me time to research and source more stuff to make the day amaaaaazing! My first purchase being a new chapel length veil with scattered crystals and today we have bought 2 large birdcages on stands to act as our table plan and "postbox" .
All the big planning has been done so i'm ok on that front

We have booked the venue, bought my dress, booked photographer, decided on a lime green and silver theme. I have also dcided who will be doing my cake and flowers. Still got loads to do though.

I've had some progress recently on who's going to do my cake for me. A guy who works in the kitchen at work makes the most gorgeous cakes and he said he's only going to charge me for the ingredients as long as he gets an invite to the wedding lol :D he's lovely. Still have a lot to sort out but cannot do much until we get our finances level again xx

Thats great about the cake, ButterflyDreamer. It's nice when you know someone who can do things like that. I am having my cake made by a friend of the family, she is very good but won't charge us a fortune cos we know her.
the lime green and silver thing was my H2B's idea. We went habadasherying(?), anyway went to look at fabrics and those where the ones we decided on. It's difficult making a decision like that with him cos I have already bought my dress and know what will go with it and he has no idea. I'm glad he wants to help though.

Ooh me too! I'm not one of those people who loves attention in the streets, unlike my h2b who is a bit of a poser lol! But I just figured at the end of the day I'm going to be making all this effort to try to look gorgeous with an amazing dress, hair, flowers etc that I may as well just try to go with the flow and lap it up for one day!!
Just hope I don't trip and look stupid, god I'd be sooo embarassed.

I don't do the whole attention thing either but i quite like the feeling that one day in my life will be based on entirely how i look. I never dress up and people always see my with the same old hairstyle! No make up and i never ever wear dresses!!!!

Thanks ButterflyDreamer, I'm sure it will all be fine but sometimes things like that just slip into your mind! My H2B is used to seeing me in no makeup and hair slapped up, as I recently started a job working mainly from home and if I'm not going out I don't bother . . . I think I've actually scared the postie a few times answering the door looking a mess and in my furry boot slippers! So I think any improvement will make my H2B ecstatic on our wedding day!

Lol i'm the same Abbey. I have a two year old so I stay at home and look after him during the week and if we don't need to be anywhere i don't bother putting make up on. I have even been to Tesco without any make up on...there were a lot of car accidents that day! lol

hey ladies only just noticed this thread im getting married on 5th may 2012, i have booked church, reception, got cars, and caterers, got my dress (well 3 to be precise lol) my shoes, tiara, veil, my jewellery, ordered my garter, have scatter crystals, balloons for reception, have my pew ends and ordered my flowers and a umbrella and think that may be it for now xx
