It depends really how far your reception is from the church. Im getting married in a church at 1pm as my reception is a bit of a drive, plus i want most of the photos taken at the church.

it is entirley up to you. i am getting married at 12.30! only because it was the only time the registra had!

sit down and work out a rough time table for the day!

    for example mine is:
    1230- wedding
    1.15-3- photos
3-345 welcome drinks, guests can check into rooms.
    345 call through for meal
    4-6 meal and speeches
6-7 drinks on lawn/guests can freshen up. entertainment arrives and sets up
    7- evening reception starts
    8- first dance
    8.30 buffet
    1 am- bar closes

    hope this helps

    xx

We are getting married at 1pm, as we are just having an afternoon tea reception in our garden, so we can go straight from church to house for about half 2 and then have a lovely afternoon with close friends and family. We aren't having a professional photographer so no need to hang about for that after the ceremony. The day will finish about 7 as we aren't having an evening do and a lot of our friends have babies or young kids and would want to get home earlier than if we had an evening do. It really all depends on distance between church and reception and time for photos etc. xx

It kind of also depends on your budget - which was something someone told us and we hadnt thought about it.

If you have a big budget or are spending a lot on the day then you want to make the most of the day and have the wedding last as long as possible - which means an earlier Ceremony (11:00 - 12:30ish)

But if you are on a tighter budget a good way to save money is to have the ceremony later - so most people would have already had food before they come and you dont have to feed them as much which saves on money etc.
so a later afternoon early evening ceremony is best.

Truth is it is ENTIRELY up to you.

We were gonna get married at 2:00 but wanted to make the most of the day so decided to get married at 12:00 so that the day was longer.
