Our wedding is booked for 27th July 2012 and only having 40 people in the day which are mostly close friends and some family.
However, this is also the opening date for the Olympics...we were not planning to send our Save the Date's until Nov/Dec time with invites following in March next year. However, I got an email yesterday from the London 2012 organisers saying ticket applications can now be made for the games. I've registered for some games (mini-honeymoon for us) but wondering whether I should send out my StD's soon just in case anyone decides they would like to go to the opening ceremony?!?!?!?
What are your opinions ladies? Should I send them soon even though the wedding is 16 months away?? Should I leave them until later in the year and just take a chance that no-one will book for the opening ceremony?

I am going for 12 months before to send mine, but it is never too early babe so if you wanna send them soon just to let everyone know so they dont book then I would xx

Our wedding is after the games we are September next year, and we've been told by every vendor and friends who have gotten married/getting married have all said the earlier the better our save the dates will be going out August/September this year.
Hmmm thanks ladies - will probably drop everyone a little line this weekend then to warn people. The closing date for applications is the end of April so still have a little bit of time. Will put the wheels in motion ha!

We sent our save the dates out 12 months before, and then the invites will be going out 5 months before.
