We are having our reception in our favorite restaurant, we are hiring the wole place out and have about 45 coming for the wedding breakfast and another 40 or so in the evening. Just wondering if anyone else is doing anything similar and if so how are you decorating the place? I have added photos if you fancy a look? :)

Oh my your venue is totally fab! I love it! What better thing to do as you know the food is gonna be fab.
We are having ours in a bar. So not even space to sit down and eat, just a buffet.
I dont even think that you will need much decoration, as it is really pretty. Maybe just some candles.

    It's gorgeous how it is!

As it's quite dark, I think it would look fab with some candles on the tables.

    Hiya,

We are having ours in a restaurant too. We have 70 for the day and 120 for the night. So ours is abit bigger than yours.

I love your photos. so gorgeous. I have put a couple of mine on.

We are hiring chair and table cloths. Mainly coz ours is dark wood and is quite scratched and marks on the tables. So i decided to cover them. Wasnt going to orgininally but have since decided it might make the room look not as dark too.

My colours are the same as the restarant. So red, ivory, grey and black. So we kinda match. Its all gone well. So i am pleased.

Talk to your venue and see what they think. xx

We're having our reception in a restaurant as well - 20 of us in all. I'm still hunting for centrepieces and going to discuss everything else when we visit the venue again at the beginning of May.

What a gorgeous venue! I'd agree with the candles for decoration. Big pillar ones everywhere haha.

Thanks everyone, its really nice to hear you like it. The venue have tablecloths so i think we will go with flower centrepieces with candles in the middle, thinking maybe some rose petals scattered on the table too. I saw at a wedding fayre a table that had a rose on each napkin, cant afford that but thinking a lavender with a bow on it, what do you guys think?

Modmother i like the idea of pillar candles will look into that.
JaeSin, we are in north chingford, the restaurant is table 7 which is opposite the church which is handy!
Solar_powered_lime, Thank You, its Sottoro and Midgely Adorae.
Luce21, had a look at your pics, your venue looks lovely too.

Yeah I know - how funny! I often wondered why it was called table 7!!!!!
Nope we are going for Holy Innocents in High Beach. We dont have enough guests to fill up StP&P's :-( even though I would loved to have gone there, is such a beautiful church. My 2 cousins were in the chior and bell ringers at St P&P's.

I was Dale View but now Just off New Road. Guessing about 60 for the ceremony! Dont worry about it looking empty, its that long aisle that would crap the pants out of me :-D. Once you get in there it will be so magical. I love way that all the locals come to stand out on the green when they hear the bells for a wedding. It is such a community church, you will love it! But I guess that you know that already!

We're doing the same, but slightly different as we're only having an evening reception type thing as we'll already have got married in Vegas a month beforehand. The restaurant is doing a hot buffet for us and we've got sole use of it all day. I've put my mum and Godmother in charge of the decs, so I have no idea what it will look like! The only restrictions I've give is no doilies, under any circumstances, no excuses! I can't stand the things but know they both love 'em! Hx

Lovely venue! I would go for tall floral arrangements to soften the decor for a wedding with lots of tealights and pillar candles on the bar etc
