..............No best man and not even any ushers!

My H2B has decided not to have a bestman or ushers, and well to be honest it has really pee'd me off!!!
The friendship politics is worse than the parents politics, with his circle of friends. This one stole this ones girlfriend, this one fell out with that one, another is dating an ex or a sister or something. This one hates that one and well the list goes on.

He got it down to about 3 and then tried to decide but picking one of the 3 would be like he was picking sides.

So I said just make them all ushers and he said nope and that he is defo NOT having ANY, so dont ask again.

This has upset me. As I am having 8 big bridesmaids, and it is gonna look like it is all about me and not US.

    Men eh?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Some men have best women. Is this something he could do?

    This is his "groomzuki" issue!

Yep - I have shown him pictures etc and he just refuses to even go there in any discussion. So I have thrown at him, that for one day they cant just be civil to each other just for you. His response is no and that if I think that they are so bad, then how can I want them to be there at all.

I have even suggested asking his 2 brother in laws (his 2 sisters are getting married this year) which he refuses to do and his reason is that he wont just have people to fill up the numbers.

Seriously, how can somebody not have a best man????? Its not that he isnt bothered by the wedding, he is really involved and comes shopping and always has an opinion, he has even chosen songs (every time he plays them he cries and says he knows exactly when he wants them played at the wedding)

It is beyond me, how to get over this issue.

I can see his point though as a best man should be just that. Your best friend or someone close to you. Its like him asking someone else to take the place of your dad if for some reason he wasn't there. It wouldn't be right to just pull in a random to do it they have to be special to you. I chose my MOH to walk me down the aisle because she is special to me but I couldn't have just anyone do it just because I haven't got a dad to do it.

Maybe you could use the brother in laws as ushers as it would be nice to have someone direct the guests etc when they arrive and I don't think it would look that odd then not having a best man.

    Thanks for the advice.

It totally goes against me, as I cant stand this woman, but I did even suggest that he had his female friend as best woman, just as long as she wore trousers (not mens trousers obviously, but you get my drift) thing is as much as I cant stand her, she is a spoilt brat. She is a great public speaker, has known him for years and years, and would probably do the job better than any of his male friends any way. But he said no, as he doesnt want her stealing the show, and have to agree she probably would as it is in her personality. :-(

    I wouldnt worry about things.

My friend is having 3 best men because he didnt want to split sides etc.. He could do that if you really wanted him to have a best man!!

Steve picked 2 best men as he coulnt choose between them and our eldest son who will be 11 didnt want to be a page boy so hes a groomsman/bestman......now our wedding plans have changed only 1 of his adult best men can make it which solves that!
Honestly tho all they have is this one decision to make....imagine if they had to make every decision regarding the wedding! We'd all be getting married in our 60's xxx

People can surprise you- my h2b didn't want to have them because the two of them don't get on but I made him do it anyway... then we found out that as soon as he'd asked them, they'd arranged to meet up and discuss his stag do and other best men duties.

Your h2b may be worried about them not getting on, but they may surprise you and put their differences aside for the wedding.
