right ive printed out all my reading i want and the rose ceremony that i want includied after the vows
got an appointment with the registar tomr at 11am to go through it all, as shed never heard of the rose ceremony and wants to inspect it throughly (her words!)
i really hope its all ok and she ok's it as its a fab way to include my son (plus guarenteed crowd pleaser with tears!!)
i hope the readings are ok... ones from SITC2 ( i just love it and very clever)
fingers crossed... do we have to ok our vows too???? if we are writing our own??
any help on how to make it run smoother??... i dont want it quick...i want our full time after all im paying her more than £500 to come out to the venue so i want my money worth...
also do i have to tell her the songs we have picked for entrance and that ???

I think you do have to tell them what songs are going to be played as well as any readings, poems and vows etc. I would have everything to hand so you are not going to get any nasty surprise later on.
I can't see her having any problems with the rose ceremony as there is nothing religious about it. Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

silly question but is the song here comes the bride one who you the one i mean .... is that religious???

I've just had to google Rose Ceremony as I had no idea what it was, well reading it I was in tears. It's so beautiful! I am having a Church ceremony so not sure my Vicar will do that but I'm wondering if I could use it as a Reading?!

theres a whole thread of the rose ceremony on here ill bump it for you, as i dunno if the vicar will do it or not but maybe one of the other ladies who commented on it might know
i just love the bit where we can give my son a rose each ( even thou hes 10) i just think its shows everyone and him we are now a proper family... that is the only reason why i want it in there ...

im not sure if the minister will allow it or not , so unfortunately i cant help you their. But what if you perform it at your reception. When you are having the speeches and giving out bridesmaid/parents etc gifts. Have i similar ceremony where you can present each other with a rose , that way it can still be included even if your minister will not allow it.
I personally was thinking of doing the one with sand, where you and your partner (and children if you have any) each have a little sand and pour it into a vase, showing that is it is impossible to separate the sand back into their own containers again, so is it impossible to separate the two of you. Then you have a nice decoration for the house when you get back home.

I'm not sure how much you can get tissues for on bay of e but I know a site where you can get tissues with bride and groom on them and I thought the price was pretty good. I'll find them and post the link on your wall
