First off-helllooo! Not been on for ages-still not booked another date! But congrats to everyone who done the deed since I was last here and congrats to all the (many) new members! Really need some advice and I know you lot always give it good! :) So-been feeling sick since monday, crampy and achey. Horrible taste in my mouth etc. Did a pregnancy test yesterday morning when I first woke up-about 3.40am! It came out positive! Did another one this afternoon and it's come out negative! WTF? Now what?? Am I? Aren't I? Problem is-can't go on lmp coz I am on the pill-but had to change it last time coz of factory production stuff-they put me on noriday-which only gives a 3 hour window for taking it-and I know I was out several times. I am 43, I have 2 kids-the youngest is 18-but I feel pregnant, I wasn't totally surprised by the positive, but am by the neg! I still feel sick, my lower belly feels tight, my boobies are slightly sore- but it's been so long since last time! Advice pleeez! x

It sounds like you could either be pregnant or menopausal? Can have similar feelings intially. You are still fairly young to go through that though so I would get down to the docs and get them to do a test as it is probably more accurate. Do you want to be pregnant again? If so, then I will have my fingers crossed for you! Let us know how you get on. :) x

Maybe you are too early on in the pregnancy for the second test to pick it up. These days some tests can pick it up way before others. x

I would do another home test and most tests say with first urine of the day. See how that comes out.
another thing would be to go to your docs and get a blood test as someone i worked with felt that same as you and kept getting negative tests went to the doctors 3 times on the 3rd time they took her blood and she found out 2 days later she was pregnant.
She did a few more urine tests as she was in shock but they didn't come up positive until she was 10 weeks! But by that point she had been told by the doctor supposedly some peoples urine doesn't show the hormone until a few weeks i, which i couldn't believe.

This happend to my friend and she went to the doctors and that one said no, but it turned out she was and there was a hormone there to be pick up by the first test but because a doctors test has to pick up more than enough before it gives a positive result. I would say yes you are pregnant as there is obviously some pregnancy hormone there for the first one to pick up. Make sure you test first thing in the morning on your first pee (hormone is strongest then) plus use a clearblue test as they are brilliaant at telling you even before you are due on. Good luck xx

You can get a false positive if you read any test about 10 minutes after it has been done. There are warnings in the fine print of the massive leaflet that comes with them. I've seen it happen, so any result read more than 10 minutes after could be false.

Thanks for all your comments! The first test was the clear blue normal one, the second was the digital thingy! Have done lots of googling and says about not testing if you are peeing a lot-hence the first morning one-and I am peeing A LOT! lol. Will try again first thing and let you know! Not really sure how I feel about it-I am SOO old! It's scary! Think if every thing was ok healthwise I would be happy-but so much can go wrong! I have an appointment with the doc on monday-but if i'm not pregnant-i'm worried it's something bad!

My sister got a positive on a clearblue normal one and then two days later got a negative on the digital.... i wouldnt buy one of those ones ever, she done a normal test again that same day and it came up as positive!! If it were me i would go and get a normal one first thing in the morning as im just sooo impatient!lol but then if you wait until monday then drs could do it for you, it would be more accurate and also gives the hormone more time to build up.... good luck, i hope its the answer you want :) xxx

I had that years ago and it scared the hell out of me. I had to take two more tests that were both negative. It could be a faulty test. Best to go to the docs and get them to do one.
