Have any ladies getting married or are married to any firemen? If so, did you have a guard of honor and/or H2B and other attending guests are firefighters in cermonial uniform? Did you prefer you had this or wished it was all normal suits?

My uncle is a fireman but I can't remember him having anything like that although I was young at the time and there might have been but I just didn't remember.

I know its not quite the same, but my husband is Army, wore ceremonial as did some of the guests. Photos looked great. We go to a lot of weddings in ceremonial uniforms.
Now a extremely happy German housewife and now a Mother!!!!

I love the idea of the uniforms...but then I love a man in uniform (phwoar!! lol) It's a shame Mark is a mechanic....boiler suits just wouldnt look nice lol

my h2b's cousin is a fireman and when they got married last year they had ALL the guys he worked with in suits- that was a lot of suits lol

My Dad was a fireman and he used to wear his proper kit for special occasions, looks good and was always a talking point.. If it's your H2B just depends on what you prefer him in, his fireman stuff or his suit! = ) x

H2B is a fireman, I've seen the uniform and now I've got some more imput on it I think we'll go ahead with the uniforms :)

I didn't get a choice... I was told the men were wearing uniform about two minutes after the proposal.

ceremonial uniform sounds nice and more personal but would this feel like work to him? Would he like it separate from his working life?

I'm engaged to a fireman (yum! heehee) He's not wearin his dress uniform as it wouldnt be special enough for our day.. Hes worn it to funerals, disaplinary meeting etc and he doesnt want to associate it with his wedding day too (he looks yummy in it tho)
As for the guard of honour, not too sure yet....undecided...but there is photos in the station of other weddings with the guard of honour at they look great!

I did a wedding for a fireman - they all wore there ceremonial uniforms and they had a guard of honour it was fantastic

ooo men in uniform! I think it's fab when they're all in their best dress uniforms but as someone has already said, they wear them for ceremonial duties, discaplinaries, funerals. Not sure if my OH considered wearing his best uniform or not to be honest. I've seen piccies where they look amazing with a guard of honour though x

My bro is in the navy and hes wearing his bests to my wedding. He was going to get married just before me and was going to wear them and al his navy mates were going to do the same. I think they all look so smart. Plus Im getting married on a boat so itll look fab. a guard of honour will look fab! xxx

i know its not the same but my mum had a guide and scout guard of honour at there wedding as mum was a guide leader and dad was a scout leader there pic's where lovely, a fireman, arm, raf or navy would be amazing it looks so special (only seen pic's in mag's)
