I thought it may have been that but I've been feeling really anxious and horrible since October, thought it was stress but doc said it's a sigh of high bp, your bodies way of telling you some things not right, it's horrible been going on too long now, really want it sorted but not to be on medication :( can't go on like this much longer tho, blurred vision, headaches, racing heart and palpitations..not good x

Sounds like me sorelle, I had those symptoms and docs said it was panic/anxiety attacks and me on beta blockers for a while. They sorted out the attacks, and I've since managed to come off the beta blockers and I don't get the attacks so much any more, but my BP still goes high when I have it measured. It's hard to know if the anxiety stuff causes the high BP, or the high BP causes the anxiety-like symptoms.....

I really need to go back and check it out again, as there should really be no reason for me to have high BP, and my personal trainer said my resting heart rate was a bit high too, especially as I'm a regular gym goer who isn't overweight and doesn't eat junk food, really I should have a low BP and a low resting heart rate.. But she said sometimes it's either white coat syndrome, or as your doc said, it's a sign your body isn't happy about something, so it's best to get it checked out, and even if you have to take meds, just think how much nicer it will be to have it sorted!

It's horrible Faeth, how are you doing now? I got put on a beta blocker (propanalol) in January but it doesn't agree with me, it actually made me worse so came straight back off again, they put me on it in case it was just anxiety.

Terri it was a routne trip to the nurse I went for in December to get more pill and my bp was sky high, she changed me from the combined pill ovranete to the mini cerazette, I've been on that since December now and my bp is still high.

I went today and he's said that it's too high to continue without medication so has given me more pills (amlodipine), I got a bit teary when I came out as I thought they were beta blockers as he didn't explain much about them, I'm not reading all the leaflet but I've read the top bit and it says they are a calcium-channel blocker, they are used for high bp and angina so I'm hopeing these ones will agree with me as they are not used to treat anxiety or anything hopefully they won't effect my head the same way the propanalol did, he's asked me to come back in 3 weeks to see how these are working and to get checked for ectopic heart??? i've only ever heard of ectopic pregnancy lol, but because my heart is one minute racing then sinks and goes really slow he's wanting to check it out but to see if these tabs help first, fingers crossed they do x

I don't feel too bad but occasionally in an exercise class I get those little white dots at the edge of my vision. I still suffer the odd bout of anxiety, but it's more in the normal range of anxiety rather than full blown panic attack stuff.

Not sure what my BP is up to at the moment, as I've not had it checked for a month..... PT thinks it may be my diet - not eating enough or the right type of food to support the exercise I do. My BP is not sky high, but more on the border for concern (around 160/90 ish). It's just a bit unusual to have, when I always used to run with a low BP if anything..... and your heart rate and BP are supposed to drop when you're fitter, so not sure what's going on really....

Fingers crossed your latest medication agrees with you and starts to help, and it's good that they are checking everything for you.

the medication should help then. my h2b is on propanalol. he takes it for thumping pulse in the back of his head. he has been on them for ages...even before we were together which was over 2 years ago. i havnt heard of a ectopic heart either. maybe google it and see what it says. he should have explained it i think so you knew what it is xx

yeah I get them in my vision too, its like little things floating in your eyes, just watch what your doing, my first reading was 174/110, my top rate has came down to 140 which they are happy with but they can't get my bottom rate below 100, and that the concern, think it should be around 80. I am a little over weight I've started exercising and watching a little more what I'm eating, don't think I eat bad stuff just too much good food lol, I like my grub, I'd say I was at least a stone over weight so hopefully if I get that off it will make a difference, keep an eye on yours faith, don't let it go too long without getting checked. Thank you.

It's funny Terri I think people can take beta blockers or they can't I think if I could take a couple weeks off work to let them get into my system properly I'd be ok but the feeling of them coming in is unbearable, for me, hopefully these ones will help me and not make me feel like crud, he said they just relax the arteries to let the blood flow better, it was the feeling in my head I couldn't stand the last time, I think they might have the same effects to the brain as maybe an anti D? they made me not feel like me. I'm not sure if he ment ectopic heart or ectopic BP? or even pulse haha, I should have asked, I'm not going to google it cause if its not nice i'll worry, I'm a terrible worrier lol. So I'll try these out and go in three weeks to check there doing what they're ment to and hopfully I'll not be having the racing and dipping pulse lol.

    Thanks for listening girls xx

    hopefully they will help you!

i have just googled propanalol too see about the side effects for h2b and it says they can make you tired and have dry eyes. well h2b is always tired...all the time and he wears contacts and says they can be uncomfy so i think they are both a side effect. going to try and get him to see his doc! xx

I found propanalol made me put on weight (or at least made it impossible for me to lose any when I was trying). Other than that they were okay for me, but I thought all they did was regulate your heart rate.....

you put on weight? h2b has put on loads, maybe it is just a coincidence (sp) but think a trip to docs is needed.

they can be used for all differnt things even to help migraines as they are something to do with blood flow in your brain xx
