I was just looking for bridesmaids dresses on a well known department stores website (that also does it's own very taste food section) and thought I'd look at the wedding cakes. I'd looked before and there was one, maybe two available that werent THAT impressive.

I take it back! Just been on again and they've got a range! Very reasonably priced too... I'm impressed! And they're not likely to do a rubbish cake so I think we'll be getting ours from there!

    Happy days! x

Ive been looking in that direction too!! And ive found some lovely ones on markey sparkey..
They even sell seperate plain tiers that you can put together and decorate yourself! Im thinking of making a 3 tier cake with either fresh flowers inbetween-that match my bouquet, or silk flowers that i can keep. There is a thread on here about this sort of thing and there is alot of good feedback about how good the cakes are! So happy hunting xx

Margo that's the very place but i was looking but at the already made ones, bargain!

Suz - I know what you mean, due to the strict diet I'm on I've been getting other people to try the cake at wedding fairs so havent had the chance to try cake (blessing in disguise). I'm just thinking that marks are unlikely to do a rubbish cake and I'm more concerned by how it looks than tastes. Infact that's a lie, I want it to taste good but it's not the end of the world if it's not thee most fabulous cake I've ever had if you know what I mean x what type of cake did you go for? x

Hey girlies I created another discussion about it, and I have decided to go with Marks with the plain one that I'll decorate myself, and I will taste the cake for my housewarming party next month with most of my wedding party (bm best man, ushers and some in laws) so once I've done that I'll give my and their review, it will only cost me £12 for the medium one so no big waste of money on a dessert for over 10 people :)

There was a thread on here the other day where everyone left reviews of their experience, if any, of cakes from there, may be worth you having a look. Most reviews were good if i remember x

We are having 2 cakes, one my MIL2b wants to make us and the other is going to be from M&S as my mum works there and has offered to buy us one, I can't say no to either so we will have plenty of cakes on our wedding day, yum! :D
