get insurance once you've booked the venue, and planned your budget properly, you can type compare wedding insurance in a search engine and pick the most suitable one for you

As soon as you put your first deposit down you need to get it.

E&L has usually worked out the cheapest for most brides on here but I did find a compare site for wedding insurance that makes it easy to see what cover you get for each insurance company.

E & L is good to choose if you are advanced planning as they cover for up to 2 years before the wedding, some only do it for 12 months before, and they were reasonably priced as well. Covered our wedding for just over £20.

We went with the one Jo metioned, and got their lowest level of cover, and it more than covers our wedding! One B2B did suggest reading reviews of the different companies before hand as well, as I think there has been some not so good stories, but so far so good with us! x

Hmmm I was looking at insurance too but I can't get a quote yet as the wedding is too far away, does anyone have any other recommendations apart from E&L?

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

Stevie_Dee managed to find a way of getting hers covered when her date was over two years but I can't remember how she did it so it might be worth asking her who she used and how she managed it. If you google compare wedding insurance it will bring up a site to compare them all together so you can decide who is best for you.

To cover anything that might go wrong! dress not being made properly, the venue burning down......anything at all.

If a supplier goes bust and you lose your deposits
If you are ill and can't get married
If you have a death in the family and have to cancel
If the venue charges you for one of your guests ruining their 30k picture
The list goes on. Lets just say can you afford to pay for things again if something goes wrong? £30 covers a 10k wedding. Its not a lot of money but gives you peace of mind if anything does go wrong. There are loads of ladies that have suppliers go bust on them and they have lost deposits or worse had paid for everything in full.

We went with E&L. It was the first thing we bought after the engagment ring. We got it before putting any deposits down so we knew that everything would be covered.
