would you put an info card in your evening invite requesting money or vouchers and i have just seen a little poem online for evening invite wording, which i thought was great only problem is the words are nots suitable for myself. does anyone know websites anywhere i can source some similar poems? they seem less informal to myself and as that is the type of people we are, more appropriate?
xx

We have used this one but there were loads on the internet.just searched wedding poems asking for money as a gift.
Our Wedding We've been together for a few years now and have a lovely home. There are not too many items that we don't already own. So please don't be offended and please don't think we're brash If your thoughts were on a present we'd much prefer the cash. The choice is really up to you and we would like to say We hope you come and enjoy yourselves On this our special day

We put a link in ours for vouchers, but didn't ask directly. All we did was say "We are getting married on the 28th of May. We’d like to invite you to our evening reception and disco at the Brooklands Museum between 8:30pm & 1am.
Looking forward to seeing you, Mel & Dan"
And then directions to venue, hotel & teaxi info and the link for the website to buy vouchers.

we've lived together for 8 years or more, and have everthing we need; apart from my dream kitchen, new car, more practical bedroom furniture, bigger house etc LOL. X

We lived together before this wedding So we have a home, full of toasters and bedding So what to get for the bride & groom Whose house is set up in every room? To save you looking, shopping and buying, Here's an idea you might like trying! We need new mattresses for us and the kids and a sofa too sit upon too, But registering for huge items isn't the thing to do So please put some money into a card, Now make a wish.... see, that wasn't hard! Now we've saved you all the fuss, We hope you'll come and celebrate with us! A wishing well will be at the reception hall To deposit your wishes... Thanks and love to you
but I found these as well :-)
"We already have a lovely fully furnished home but would like to buy 'big' things like ....... So we would welcome a monetary contribution to put towards the things we need to make our house a nice and cosy married home. However, if you prefer to purchase a gift, Feel free to surprise us in your own way.
OR
Unsure in our minds, of what we may need, Not wanting to offend, or show any greed, We have the essentials to be living in sin, A kettle, a toaster, and even a bin. So , high street vouchers are requested, in order to proceed, With the purchases that we will eventually need.

We're gonna use one of these poems in our invites but I'm not sure if the original question posed on this thread was whether or not you would ask the EVENING guests for money/vouchers too. If this wasn't the question then it is now! Do we put the same poem in for the evening guests?

We do not have a wedding list Nor requests for certain things All we want is your company And the memories the day brings A financial gift would be lovely And appreciated by us But please do not feel pressured As this is really not a must The choice is really up to you And we would like to say We hope you come enjoy yourselves And have a lovely day
please find within this poem, information just for you, with some rules and regulations, that we both insist you do.
Save the date of November 26th, is the first thing to say, to share the love and happiness, on our wedding day.
The second one is vital, if you’re to be our guest, to eat drink and be merry, or do your very best.
The third rule can be broken, we really do not mind, but if you choose to follow it, thank you for being kind.
We’ve been together for a few years, and have a lovely home, there are not too many items now, we don’t already own.
So if you’re thoughts were on a gift, your presence will suffice, but if you really feel the need, then money would be nice.
The choice is really up to you, and we would like to say, we hope you come, enjoy yourself, and have a lovely day!

We have put poems in our invites, we got some lovely ones ready printed from the bay of e, with this poem:
More than just kisses so far we've shared our home has been made with Love and Care most things we need we've already got and in our home we can't fit a lot! A wishing well we thought would be great (but only if you wish to participate) A gift of money is placed in the well then make a wish .... but shhh don't tell! Once we've replaced the old with the new we can look back and say it was thanks to you! and in return for your kindness, we're sure that one day soon you will get what you wished for!

My poem insert is this..
We haven’t got a wedding list, The reason we’ll explain, Is to save you all the hassle as shopping is a pain, We’ve been together for a while, And have most the things we need, So vouchers, cheque or cash would be gratefully received. The choice is yours so please don’t fuss, The most important thing of all, Is that you celebrate our day with us. But, if you would like to contribute, To our soft and cosy rooms, Our heartfelt thanks go out to you, With Love, The Bride and Groom xxxxxx
Very very happy as Mrs Erica Trow
I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! xx

The vouchers we're asking for are Thomas Cook so they will be refunded from the price of our honeymoon.
