I've spoken to a supplier who advised that the icing on a carrot cake from her would be the stardard rolled icing you get on a sponge - has anyone had carrot cake with this? I assumed it'd be frosting/butter icing and didnt think the normal icing would go?

Thanks for starting this discussion - I'm having carrot cake too, my mum is making it but she wants to get a professional to ice it. I didn't even consider normal icing - let me know if it is nice because that may b the way to go!

my friend is making our cake and she always says that if its a thin layer of icing then its fine over any type of cake and its what the inside tastes like really its true icing is just decoration x
i love carrot cake but i had a piece yesterday and it was really too dry! make sure its got plenty of moisture in the cake itself or i thought about putting a buttercream layer through the middle to give it extra moisture xx

Oooh dont they automatically have the buttercream in the middle? Ohhhh couldnt have that!! If I could I'd just get the carrot cake from costco - it's sooooooooooooooo nice! x
