Me and h2b have decided on a traditional gift list as such... We don't want money, or vouchers

But we have lots of stuff but we still want to go traditional with the gift lists.... As when we get back from honeymoon it will come and we get to unwrap it all....something to look forward too after the wedding.... Plus h2b is very traditional

But we have no idea what to put on it we thought quirky things but have no idea what... Were going with John Lewis gift list ... Anyone got any ideas of what to put on the list??

Vases, mirror's, candle holders, lots of photo frames for wedding pictures?

I don't really know. We were doing a John Lewis gift list but we've decided to just ask for money as there isn't anything we need!

It's a hard one when you have everything x

With that wedding website you're on (I'm on the same one) If I remember correctly, it allows you to create a gift list on there from anything on the internet. I'm like you, have everything we already *need* so me and H2B are going for the things like, pictures, ornaments and things like that, that reflect our style.

A hoover that will pick up cat hair!! That's one of the first things I want to put on our list! But definitely bedding and towels, we're also going to ask for a dinner set too as we bought pans and cutlery with the money we got for our engagement present.

Sounds about right and I know you did not want vouchers but if you had them for that specific store you could save them towards larger items again. The best list I ever saw was from a couple getting married in Brazil and they started off with 'a sofa' 'a bed'...not contributions towards .....just the details of massive items. I thought it was so cheeky as they did not even think of starting with 'we know you are paying money to come and see us get married so we dont expect anything'..they just went in for the kill! ha ha

Going for a honeymoon gift list, which will give options like a candlelit dinner, champagne breakfast, couples' massage, Scuba dive, upgrade in air travel, upgrade in accommodation. For us this will be a once-in-a-lifetime holiday that we will never forget and will be such a brilliant start to our married life. We are reluctantly adding small registry with John Lewis for anyone who can't part with tradition.

Items on the list are: a gorgeous, but very expensive Svaja flower vase, Le Creuset cast iron cookpot, Le Creuset cast iron grill pan, a Dartington Hoggit wine decanter.

I figured let them buy the things we would never justify buying for ourselves, if they really don't want to put towards the honeymoon. I chose things that people would still possibly be around in 50 years time so we can remember people by them. I figured that anyone objecting to the honeymoon would probably do so because they felt it was ephemeral.

I also don't see why people can't just choose their own gifts for us - some beautiful art piece or artisan bowl. Or something they made themselves.

I really don't want people to get tangled up about gifts. If they can't afford much, I don't want them getting stressed. But some people want to and can afford to, so there will be options for those who want it.

I like the phrase "as for presents, all we need is your presence" and we will find a way of writing it that is generous, not offensive. After all, some people will have flown over from Florida/ Kuala Lumpar/ The Carribean/ Italy/ Denmark. They will have made a huge effort just to be there and we will be delighted to see them.
