we are getting married abroad and having a reception at a nice pub at home, very informal really, buffet, and as i dont have a lot of family, the invites would really be for our mates, his family (which are .. how do i put this.. very informal type people) and my dads mates from the pub that iv know since i was a child (my dad passed a few years ago, so they deem themselves surrogate dad's lol) although i still want the invite to look nice, as im sure someone will find fault with whatever i choose. So im really struggling to decide on invites, so was wondering if business cards printed up with details on would be ok for wedding invitations? i was thinking grey with blue and white flower outline ish detail? i thought then it would be informal, handy-no need to squash it into a tiny handbag or wallet, and different. i would love anyones opinion on this? thank you x

Sounds great - who says invites all have to be the same?

cheers, iv been on VP, looked at the business cards and postcards, and put details on a few, as its just a reception, details i need are:-

    name & name
    would like to invite you,
    to celebrate their marriage
    on date 2011
    at place time

so i thought business cards rather than the postcards, as PCards looked a bit details spaced out to fill the page -?

The only concern I would have with the size is people could easily lose them and they would not come in envelopes so you would just be handing them out. If you do go for them I have found Vista by far the best and you could always make them double sided

    @ the op

Business cards can be a great idea - check out the link to the company I use on my wall.
They make Vistaprint stuff look like rubbish and you can have a variety of images on the same batch of cards.
i.e not the same image on 25 cards, but each card with a different image.
Maybe have 25 cards, each with a different image of you and your H2B on?

I have my business cards done with 30 different images, like a mini-portfolio, so each card is different to the next.
