my boss has recieved a wedding invite recently and part of the invite has a poem on about money as a gift, she was saying that it made her feel uncomfortable being asked for money for their honeymoon instead of giving a present, i explainined this was similar to what we were going to add with our invites as we have everything and although we would prefer people to come and just have fun to our wedding we know that some will want to give a little something, shes a really good boss and i respect her so was wondering if there were any ideas how to let people know money towards honeymoon if they wanted to would be great, or any poems that doesnt come across as saying we want money as a gift for attending the wedding?

Hey Lou Lou!
I posted something similar a few weeks ago and was advised to search the threads for poems! I did and there are loadz! Have a quick search, you can read them and tweek them or if you have a look at my thread called would you be offended if then that is what I have decided to get printed on a bit of card to pop in with the invites! I ran it past the girls on the forum and they think it would be ok to put in! Its a very tricky one! Like you I didn't want to come across as you must get me this or that and I didn't want to offend anyone! Hope you can find a soloution! xxx

I'm in the same dilemma at the moment. My friend was saying how she had been invited to a wedding and in the invite got the poem about money and she was saying how she found it cheeky and she's just going to take a small gift, I didn't tell her I was planning ob doing the same thing! H2b said we should do a gift list aswell as the option of honeymoon contribution but I just have no idea how to ask for money now, even the poems don't seem to be doing the trick! x
All of my dreams come true the day I married you, Mr Walker
