....you received a little note in with the invitation saying the following! Pretend you are my friend or family member! Lol!
To our Beautiful Family & Friends
As you are all aware we have been together for 8 years, have set up home and have two beautiful daughters! For that reason we have decided against a gift list and instead we are having a post box at our reception. We would love to receive your greeting cards, messages and only if you wish to buy us a ‘gift’ then high street vouchers would be graciously accepted.
We hope we haven’t offended any of you as this is not our intention.
With Love from Kristopher & Natalie

I think thats nice and a polite way to put your message across, seeing it from a "guests" point of view, i would be happy doing this because i'd rather you be able to get something you need/enjoy than to buy you stuff you already have x

Oh brilliant! I have been typing and re-typing and re-typing over and over! I was going to go down the route of poems but decided against it as wanted something a bit more personal! In the end I came up with that! I read it and thought oooh thats nice! Just lovely to get other peoples oppinions! I am having a lady from Bay Of E do them for me on cards! Think I may add Jessica and Avas names on the bottom too! Thanks Ali for that little tip!
Thank you for your posts!! :D xxx

we want money for our honeymoon, but i just don't have what it takes to ask, so i have informed my parents, his parents and my gran that is what we would like, as most people will ask them or us, and if we are asked i don't feel bad saying. I know that some were planning on just giving us anyway, so its not that bad.

I wouldn't be offended at all and it is put rly nicely x

That's been worded really nicely :) xxx
It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

It's perfect - we also asked for gift vouchers. Almost every wedding I've been to recently the bride & groom have asked for vouchers for the honeymoon or a high street store. I think people are worried that otherwise they'll end up with 15 toasters!

It sounds great to me and I wouldn't be offended if I received that in an invite. I always think its best to get people what they want/or need rather then wasting money on things they don't need or will just shove in a cupboard. Its sensible to do something like this if you have all you need otherwise :)

Hiya,
Thats lovely. Really personal. We are asking for money towards our honeymoon. We found a poem off a website and copied it.hahaha. In this day n age alot of people are set up already- us being like you have most things- we would like a holiday of a lifetime before we start trying for a baby. Coz once we have some of those- dubai and mauritis prob wont happen! lol xx
