Hiya everyone, just wondered if anyone is going to the show! I am going on the Sunday =] I just think it will be funny if loads of people of here are going and we could see each other but not know it! Im really excited about going as i neeeeeed to find a venue and im hoping i will find the right one there...hopefully i will find lots of other things too!!! =] x

I went in October! There were so many people that it was too hard for me and my mum to find anything! but it was a lovely day out with my mummy and I brought back lots of goodies!!! x

I went to the London one last weekend. 2 hours there was more than enough for me! Oh, and just for information- the VIP 'goody bags' have exactly the same as the freebie bags! So not worth the extra money xx

I went to the NEC in 2009 and had a really great time, well worth the drive. I'm really looking forward the Saturday, makes a change to be immersed in wedding stuff for the whole day!

I went to NEC today, I must say i was expecting a lot more. There was only 1 photo booth stands whose quotes were £100 more than i already got. No chocolate fountains, no cars to see (just a couple of brouchers) and i didnt see much in the way of catering companys. Lots of dresses, jewellry, stationary, cakes and travel agents though. Had a really good day though, we now know we can go a head and book with companies we got quotes from. Just got home and have tons of carrier bags and magazines etc to get through :D
We bought our card box / wishing well chest thing. Got an ivory chest with personalised ribbon all in our colour scheme for £8. i got personalised socks, 7 pairs for £15 groom, best man, father of the bride, brother of the bride, father of the groom, brother of the groom and son of the bride. Also the an gave me his card as he can make man of honour ones for me :D Also saw a dress very similar to mine, for £1010!!!! Hahahaha i only paid £95 for mine from bay of e so i was well chuffed!!!

I must say I was dissapointed too, I got a few bits, card box, garter and a pc craft things, but overall it wasn't as 'great' as I expected it to be. There was lots of bridal dress stands - too many really - which was fab for my mate as she tried dresses on, but nothing really that I found interesting. Did find out that mr Mark and Mr Spencer are bringing out a very nice 'new' range of wedding cakes in april, but I've just bought mine anyway. Day was still fun, enjoyed the shows, well the ones I got to x

I went to the NEC today and was really disappointed. it was 90% dresses a few cake stands n bits n bobs but expected a lot more like invitations, caterers, cars, flowers, balloons and stuff that was a bit diff n special. Also y where the girls on the catwalk so skinny. U couldn't see what a dress would really look like on them!

I agree! I went yesterday with MiL2B, SiL2B and Niece-in-law2B and whilst it was a lovely bonding experience, I was really disappointed with it. And I agree about the models used in the catwalk show. One we are sure had an eating disorder - you could see her from ribs as well as her collar bone at the front and her shoulders and back ribs at the back - made us all feel a bit ill tbh!

Oh and I'm well miffed with De of the banhams. 'Here, have one of our special bags with hundres of pounds off vouchers included'. When you look, the vouchers all expired in DECEMBER 2010!!!! Shocking. That's twice this week they've peed me off.

ye i saw that girl it's not natural. they even used them to model the MOTB outfits n they hung off them they where too young for them and to look nice them dresses needed people with shape. We just went for a day out but i would have been really upset if i actually went to buy stuff

True. Oh and did you see that power company (think it was N-Power) there? Trying to get us to change our power supplier - as if we would want to do that on a day where we're looking for wedding related goodies?! I was actually really offended by their pressence. I thought it was outrageous that they were allowed to exhibit on this occasion!

Ye they stopped us and we said we were already with them and they where like OH right! I was like what a reaction. they are representing a company they should at least be like thats great or something. It was as if they didnt have enough stands so thought oh wel they may as wel pay us to put a stool up. It was my first wedding fair and i wasn't impressed :(

I must say, i was more impressed by the little one i went to with mil2b at the local zoo! Was only a couple of stands in a small room, but that was where i organised getting our wedding rings, all the cake stands had samples and we got free entry to look round the zoo!!

i really enjoyed myself...true about the models...it was actually disgusting they need real women of all shapes to make thoses dresses stand out. i thought there were lots of little bits and bobs there that i had forgotten about...did anybody see the 'SHOOT IT YOURSELF' i thought that was a really orginal idea...bit over priced though! i brought some tables jewles and a card box, as they were actually cheaper there than i had seen anywere else so that was quie handy, yeah i think i am a little disapointed i did think there would be more from the stalls it all got a bit repetative. but i must say i had a great day with my mummy!

Sounds like we should have had a photography stand there to provide some variety!! We did a wedding fair in Yorkshire which was really well attended and lots of stalls for all types of services. Whats the "Shoot it yourself" thing??

Shoot it yourself - A company that basically hired their equipment to you (I think gave a bit of training too) and your family and friends and let the wedding party shoot your day for you.

Oh I do hope you are pleasently surprised and they improved on last years fiasco! Having said all that, it was a really nice bonding experience for me and the now in-laws! And you should have seen my niece's face when I asked her to be flowergirl whilst we were there. Priceless.
