I was never informed by my venue that they had a Master Of Ceremony, in none of my booklets or the terms of conditions the contracts anything anywhere did it mention one so I booked and paid for one, 140 quid.. only to find out this morning that the banqueting manager acts as Master Of Ceremony and is included in the venue hire price. Excuse me whilst I go off and scream!

I've just got out my contract and terms and conditions for the one I booked and it's not looking good, I've paid the full amount already. I'm going to give him a ring and sweet talk him into giving me a full refund!

thats a shame, see if there isnt something he can offer instead of that service, there may be something he can exchange it for, or he may be a nice man and let you have your money back as you have given him loads of notice :) x

You'd have thought your venue would have made it clear... I wondered so checked with them yesterday and he is included with mine, it would be reasonable to expect that the one you hired takes a deposit as non refundable and pays the rest back to you x

    oh thats not cool!!!

I have actually asked my dad to be the master of ceremonies. My mum suggested it, and thought it would be nice that he gets to introduce his daughter as Mrs Simmonds. :)

Its all sorted now, the one I booked and paid for said I can cancel and I'll get a full refund, he had someone ring and try book him this morning for my date so he can call them back and say he's now available so it's worked out fine. Really pleased now, I spoke to my venue co-ordinator thingy me bob and she said that I could ask a member of family or close friend to be my MC and there MC can co-ordinate whoever I choose.. Not sure which to pick, stick with the MC or have someone I know

Yeah I was really annoyed that it doesnt state anything about an MC anywhere so you just automatically think you need to book your own.. thankfully its sorted :-D xx
